GRANVILLE’S not going to believe this! Nurse Gladys Emmanuel is moving to Walford.

Lynda Baron, who played busty Gladys in Open All Hours, is joining EastEnders as Jane Beale and Christian Clarke’s mum Linda.

After a brief appearance in the role last year, Lynda is now set to join the cast full time.

John Partridge, who plays Christian, says: “I loved Open All Hours – Lynda is perfect to play my mum.”

:cheer: I like her, look forward to her joining in.

well it was only inevitable that she'd come back once Christian was brought in as well. can't wait to see the family dynamic between the three of them!

i liked her guest appearence with Jane last year so it hsould be good. I like how they introduce new characters who are already to do with the show if you know what i mean. Like the Brannings were already part of a family. The same with Janes mum.

Lynda Baron's not returning to 'EastEnders'

Despite a report in one of today's tabloids, former Open All Hours actress Lynda Baron is not returning to reprise her role as Jane and Christian's mum, Linda Clarke.

A spokeswoman for the soap today told me: "There are no current plans for Lynda to return."

It's a shame because she'd explain a lot about Jane (Laurie Brett) and Christian's (John Partridge) relationship. I have been told, however, that we should be seeing a lot more of Jane and Christian in the coming months.

I didn't like Christian in his first scenes, but he is a welcome addition to the show. Refreshing even. Looking forward to them.:cheer:

Open All Hours actress Lynda Baron is to reprise her Walford role as Linda Collins later this year.

The 66-year-old, who played Nurse Gladys Emanuel in the BBC comedy, has already returned to filming as Jane Beale's (Laurie Brett) and Christian Clarke's (John Partridge) mother for a storyline which will reveal more about the family's history.

A source told Inside Soap: "We're very excited to have Lynda back with us. The last time Linda was around, in late 2006, we found out that Jane used to be called Lesley and had a darker past than anyone realised."

They added: "More skeletons may be unearthed this time, and the dynamic between Linda and Christian should be interesting, too."

Her return to Albert Square will appear on screen in late October or early November.

Wayward mum Linda Collins returns to Albert Square – and she’s set to cause a whole load of trouble.

Linda, played by Open All Hours actress Lynda Baron, 66, turns up out of the blue to see her two children, Jane Beale and Lynda Baron.

And neither are pleased to see her. So when she gets drunk in the Queen Vic and starts flirting with Charlie Slater the pair are mortified.

Christian does his best to try to get her to leave but the feisty mum is having none of it.

Linda was last seen in late 2006 when viewers found out Jane used to be called Lesley and had a darker past than anyone realised.

But now, with Christian living in the Square with his sister, bosses have promised even more sensational revelations.

An EastEnders insider said: “Linda’s arrival will be explosive. And fans can expect her to reveal a few more skeletons in both Jane and Christian’s closets.

“She gets on better with Jane than Christian, so it doesn’t take long before she’s having a very public barney with him in the pub.

“It’s going to be a very interesting time for all concerned.

“There are going to be quite a few things that come out – much to Jane and Christian’s horror.”

Fans will be able to see Linda’s arrival on BBC1 on Thursday November 13.
