Bosses decided to keep a shocking CELLAR storyline despite Austrian devil dad Josef Fritzl’s dungeon hitting the headlines.

Bookie Dan Mason (Crompton) almost dies when he’s left locked in the cellar of the Rover’s Return with a punctured lung after a scuffle with landlord Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).

It’s odds on Steve will be back behind bars.

Dad Jim would be proud, so he would.

i'm less concerned about it being in the cellar and more about the complete randomness of the storyline!

i agree as its not really the same, its an accident he ends up down there. Theres someone trapped in a celler in the Bill pretty much every month! It seems to have appeasred form no where the storyline.

This storyline would have been planned weeks ago, the writers would have had no idea that a terrible crime would happen in real-life.

steve is going to cheat on michelle though isn't he....(read in my mag yesterday) and leanne is going to start work at the pub....

so perhaps steve cheats with leanne and that's why they fight????

I thought Steve is happy with Michelle? :confused: Unless they start fighting a lot because of Alex and it means the end of their relationship. :searchme:

well we all know he has had a violent past, remember he pushed his dad from scaffolding and paralysed him maybe that part of him re-awakings, cant wait to see exactly why.

poor amy if steve does end up behind bars, both her parents will be in prison

He seemed to have mellowed though. Must be something important to get him so angry. No excuse for violence though...

Didn't Steve and Leanne have a thing in the past - or at least were close? Cos' i remember them two bonding over the fear of Jez Quigley
