http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/C/cutting_edge/images/strictly_baby/strictly3.jpg This powerful, one-off observational documentary offers a rare insight into child Thai boxing, one of the fastest growing martial arts in the UK with now over 500 registered clubs teaching this sport.

http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/C/cutting_edge/images/strictly_baby/strictly2.jpg Children as young as four or five are becoming the latest recruits to organised fighting, where some people's attitude is: if you're good enough to fight, you're old enough.

http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/C/cutting_edge/images/strictly_baby/strictly1.jpg Now, Channel 4's Cutting Edge strand enters the competitive and sometimes obsessive worlds of four families who are investing everything into training their kids to be the best young fighters in Britain. The film follows five primary school children: Miah and her twin brother Kian, Thai, Connor and Sohan.

This seems wrong to me. I don't like boxing as a sport anyway but at least the kids grow up before you let them start boxing.

I watched the trailer, I just can't bear to watch this barbaric sport for little kids and want to punch the dad who features in the documentary. His two kids apparently love the sport but I am not so sure they would say this off camera. I used to do and teach martial arts and the minimum age was 6 years old before they were accepted. Those little boxers do not even wear head protection

i agree totally. the dad looked a thug and seemed to revel in his kids fighting. i dont think it was much of what they wanted to do but more what he wanted them to do!

Marley does Judo she has done for the last two years and goes to Judo twice a week. Kids have to be 7 to join the club. Marley's coach has been teaching at the same club for over 20 years. I have never or never will force Marley to take part in the sport if she didn't want to. Parents who force their children into participating in any sports should have their kids taken away from them. The mother was no better putting make-up on the little girl and telling her she wasn't to cry.

I could not watch the programme all the way through because I got too upset, nobody should have to do something they don't want to, especially children and I thought those kids only went to boxing to please their parents. Kick-boxing is far too dangerous and totally inappropriate until kids are at least teenagers.
