2291: Shasha stoops to a new low
Monday, May 5 2008 at 18:30 BST on Channel 4
Calvin's missing Carmel but when he drops one of her tops in at the salon, Carmel only thinks this makes their break up even more final and makes him take back her engagement ring. Michaela's trying to interview Calvin and lets slip that Carmel still has feelings for him. Calvin is taken back but hides his emotions well, pushing Michaela away.
Niall manipulates the situation and tells Carmel that he's just seen Calvin push Michaela - maybe Carmel's better off without someone like that? But knowing Calvin too well, Carmel realises she's been stupid and goes to see him. Carmel's firm with Calvin and admits they've both been foolish, Calvin agrees, but is further stunned as Carmel asks him if he'll marry her?
Sasha's avoiding Calvin, sure he'll be able to tell she's been back on drugs. Michaela asks Sasha what's so good about being on drugs. Sasha tries to explain but just ends up sounding confused and sad. Calvin leaves his coat lying around and sinking to new depths, Sasha can't help but rifle through it for cash; unfortunately there isn't any money but she does find Carmel's engagement ring.
Fletch can't believe Sasha has stolen the ring and insists she put it back. Feeling guilty, Sasha replaces the ring and instead opts for stealing Nancy's purse. With the little money they get, they hurry off to buy some more heroin. Later, Michaela sees a wasted Sasha and Fletch at the park and pities her fallen friends.
Nancy bumps in to Kris in college and explains she plans to return to her course in October but is a little wary. Kris buoys her up and Nancy is thrilled when she then discovers that Charlie's about to be released from hospital. Brimming with joy and preparations, Nancy rushes off to the hospital to meet Frankie. Frankie is equally as ecstatic but slightly saddened that Charlie won't be coming home with her. Nancy promises that she'll ensure Frankie is as a huge part of Charlie's life and Frankie is grateful. But later, as Nancy prepares for Charlie's homecoming, Frankie receives a phone call from Social Services entrusting Charlie into her temporary care.
Amy receives more generous offers of help for baby Leah and complains to Ste that they'll never be able to come clean. But when Ste discovers from Tony that Charlie is coming home from hospital he hits on the perfect idea – to use Charlie's homecoming celebrations as an opportunity to tell the village that Leah is also in remission. Amy's initially shocked at Ste's suggestion but promises to think about it…

Nancy accuses Frankie of going behind her back but Frankie promises Nancy she can see Charlie whenever she wants. As Frankie leaves with Charlie, Russ encourages Nancy to head to the party in Il Gnosh to at least celebrate the fact that Charlie is better. Nancy agrees, but is horrified to discover Amy's lie about Leah.

Having prepared no answer for the question of paternity, Dom accepts Jack's good wishes and Jacqui is left furious.
