does anyone go?

A friend of mine does....she isnt/wasnt really overweight - just wanted to lose a bit of weight for her hols and when she went they said she could lose at least one stone to start with and then go from there!!! We were shocked  that she was told she had lose that much weight.

That aside she said that the diet plan was easy to follow and lost some weight quickly...not a stone though!!!

I did, lost 3 1/2 stone over a year, I don't go any more, times dont' suit, but I still follow the plan a bit. Its quite easy once you get the basics right, and you don't starve.

Sometimes the producers change the recipe or the dieticians find out more about certain things and change their minds like doctors change their opinions on certain medication as more scientific knowledge becomes available. I once compared a German Weightwatchers calorie book with a UK one and there were a lot of differences in the way lots of food was scored. :searchme: I bet if I ever found an American book that would score the food items differently again so I find I don't trust Weightwatchers now.

Started a week of Slimming World recipes which are in Woman magazine. I have a question on drinking water though. I know that on diets you are not to have fizzy drinks, does this include fizzy water? I drink gallons of it but can't stand still water. So do I need to change my choice of drinking water?

Mineral water either fizzy or still is free so you are ok :cheer: - just checked my Syns book

i think its cos most fizzy drinks contain a lot of sugar and not much else! so id guess water would be fine cos its still just water

I am wondering whether the carbonation process has got something to do with it, I know that when you are on the cabbage soup diet, fizzy water is a :nono:

i think the fizziness of the water wouldnt add any weight/calories to you so if youre still eating a balanced diet it should be fine. its probably just if youre not eating a balanced diet then the fizziness might react to what youre eating, if that makes sense, im not sure though

you can drink fizzy drinks on a diet, as long as its say diet pepsi, coke zero, diet lemonade etc. obviously not as healthy as a lot of other things but no problem as far as calories are concerned as theyre free on most diets.
