When's this prog on???

Ive only ever watched it in its orginal format, ie 5 half hour shows over the week, so will be interesting to see how it sits in just one hour slot.

I have to say the voice over man is worth tuning in for alone!!! He's hilarious

they have to be dont they. if it was 4 boring people around the dinner table it would be just a boring cookery show. i love it for the narration, and the clash of characters just as much as for the cooking element.

TV presenter Sherrie Hewson gave former actress Hannah Waterman a book for menopausal women - despite the ex-EastEnders star only being 34.
The pair nearly came to blows on Channel 4's Celebrity Come Dine With Me Christmas special.

Hannah fumed: "I thought it would be OK in ten years' time, but at 34 I was slightly offended. It's more relevant to a 53-year-old."

But Loose Women host Sherrie, 59, said: "It's about mature women and how to age gracefully. It gives good advice."

The show airs on December 22.

Perdita
15-12-2009, 14:13
I don't think she had surgery, according to DS:

Hannah Waterman has reportedly dropped from a dress size 16 to size 6 in just five months.

According to Heat, the former EastEnders actress embarked on a strict diet for her new exercise DVD Hannah Waterman's Body Blitz.

Waterman reportedly claimed that the weight loss was achieved through exercise and the help of Loughborough University's expert Martin MacDonald.

"I didn't want to do a crash diet - you have to lose weight steadily," she said.

"I've been interval training, which means getting your heart rate really high and then dropping it down again then getting it high again. It's hard, but it works."

Meanwhile, Waterman's actor husband Ricky Groves has reportedly lost two stone since taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.

If that was not a crash diet, I don't know what is. That is too much weight loss in just 5 months.

Channel 4's Come Dine With Me has today been accused of misleading viewers after the broadcaster admitted that celebrity contestants are being lent properties to cook in.

Producers of the cookery show have hired out properties on occasions when stars did not want their real homes shown on TV, the Daily Mail reports. It is thought that the practice has also occasionally occurred for the convenience of filming schedules.

Come Dine With Me follows the progress of amateur chefs as they take turns in hosting dinner parties for the other contestants.

Actor Christopher Biggins is said to be one star who was seen in a rented home on the programme because he was "nervous" about showing his real residence on TV. While the property was not explicitly named as his own, he was seen acting as if it was.

Meanwhile, in a recent Christmas special, Loose Women star Sherrie Hewson reportedly hosted a dinner party in a rented property because her real home in the north-west was too far away from the other contestants.

Responding to the news, Mediawatch director Vivienne Pattinson commented: "I don't think this does anything for public trust when it is not made clear."

A Channel 4 spokesman said: "For logistic and security reasons, some of the celebrity dinner parties are filmed at a rented location rather than their own homes. This is only the case for the celebrity spinoffs. Contributors for Come Dine With Me host their dinners at their own homes."

The program is about cooking and having a dinner party, not what your house looks like

lizann

Popular Channel 4 series Come Dine With Me is the latest show to face 'faking it' accusations after it was revealed some of the homes featured don't belong to the contestants.

Celebrities including Christopher Biggins and Sherrie Hewson appeared in properties which were hired out especially for the show, however, viewers were led to believe that they were their own homes.

Alternative locations were used for filming either to fit in with the show's schedule or because some of the contestants didn't want their real houses featured on TV, reports the Daily Mail.

In the episode featuring Christopher Biggins he was seen showing his dinner guests a framed photograph of Joan Collins which he kept in his living room. However, the home featured did not really belong to the I'm A Celebrity star.

A production company insider told the paper: "Surely there is an obligation on the programme-makers to make it clear to the viewers. That's the format of the show - it is a dinner party at their house. You would have thought they would have been extremely careful after what's happened in the past."

A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: "For logistic and security reasons, some of the celebrity dinner parties are filmed at a rented location rather than their own homes.

"This is only the case for the celebrity spin-offs. Contributors for Come Dine With Me host their dinners at their own homes."

Channel 4 has commissioned an internet spinoff to its daytime hit Come Dine With Me.

The broadcaster has launched an application on its website in order to allow fans of the show to create their own episodes, which include the use of visuals, music and voiceover from presenter Dave Lamb.

Come Dine With Me Homemade, created by Metabroadcast, offers a prize for the best shows in a six-week period, selected by a Channel 4 team.

According to New Media Age, editor of 4Food Julia Pal said: "Come Dine With Me Homemade feels like the natural next step, allowing fans of the programme to create their own, personalised version of the show."

BBC Worldwide has commissioned a US remake of Come Dine With Me.

The series, which will be produced by ITV Studios America, follows a group of people as they host dinner parties and mark each other's efforts.

The new version of the show, featuring contestants from New York, will air on BBC America in 2011.

David Weiland from BBC Worldwide said: "The UK version of Come Dine With Me is already a strong performer on BBC Lifestyle across all territories and we are really excited about adding the US version to the mix.

"This deal reinforces our commitment to commission local productions for our channels, in this case BBC America, and we're thrilled to be working with ITV Studios to create a US incarnation of the show."

The series will also be aired on BBC Lifestyle in Asia, Africa, Poland, Scandinavia and the Middle East and on BBC Entertainment in Latin America.

Meanwhile, BBC America will begin broadcasting 22 episodes of the UK Come Dine With Me from July this year.

ACTOR Ken Morley turns up at fellow Corrie legend Julie Goodyear's house wearing just a THONG and FAKE BREASTS in a special episode of Come Dine With Me.

The star, who played Reg Holdsworth, was asked to dress as a woman for the party at the Bet Lynch actress's house.

Ken, appearing on the show as part of the soap's 50th Anniversary celebrations, said of his fellow guests: "I don't think they were prepared for what they got."

And Ken wasn't expecting Julie to be waiting for him with a huge horse whip. He added: "I was slightly impertinent towards her so she thrashed me with it."

An iPhone app has been launched for popular Channel 4 cookery series Come Dine With Me, featuring recipe suggestions and acerbic quotes from narrator Dave Lamb.

Available to download now from the App Store priced at £1.79, the app enables users to create a shopping list of ingredients for their own three-course meal, with a scoring system enabling guests to grade the event.

The app features a range of recipe suggestions, paired with wine tasting tutorials provided by the Australian wine brand Hardys, sponsor of Come Dine With Me.

It also includes a range of classic quotes from the show's resident narrator Dave Lamb, known for his humorously disparaging quips about the contestants.

"We are really excited to be able to give fans of the show an opportunity to be part of Come Dine With Me and experience the trials and tribulations that contestants have to go through when hosting their own dinner party," said Helen Warner, Channel 4's head of daytime.

"What better way to do it than with a helping hand on recipe and wine choices, scoring systems and a few choice comments from our very own Dave Lamb?"

Neil Anderson, spokesperson for Hardys, added: "We all know that pairing a good wine to a meal is key to ensuring guests experience an enjoyable dinner party.

"The new Come Dine With Me app allows fans to easily match Hardys wines to meals [and] complement the food perfectly."

Earlier in the year, BBC Worldwide commissioned a US version of Come Dine With Me to air on BBC America in 2011.

Former Coronation Street star Ken Morley reportedly shocked fellow diners in a special episode of Come Dine With Me.

The actor, who recently reprised his role as Reg Holdsworth for a spinoff DVD, appeared alongside ex-Corrie stars Julie Goodyear, Tupele Dorgu and Phil Middlemiss to celebrate the ITV soap's 50th anniversary.

The Sun reports that Morley passed wind, burped, spat and insulted his guests in the episode - going as far as to tell Dorgu that he thought she had come from an "escort agency".

The actress, who played Kelly Crabtree in the Weatherfield drama, said: "He's dribbled, I've been spat at and he's farted. I never thought anybody could be so rude, offensive, insulting or inappropriate as Ken."

Despite insisting that his behaviour was "quite normal", a source added: "There's been all sorts of behaviour on Come Dine With Me, but this beats the lot."

Middlemiss commented: "A lot of people would be offended by Ken, but does he care? Not really."

Come Dine With Me: Coronation Street Special airs on December 6 at 9pm on Channel 4.

I was listening to the local radio station this mornig before going to work. next week Come Dine with Me is coming from Edinburgh. An e-mail had been sent in by the winner of the show. The DJ said that they started their e-mail with I won Come dine with me. Then went on to tell them about the show, then at the bottom of the e-mail it said that they weren't allowed to tell anyone who won. What a complete idiot imaging sending an email saying you've won a competition but your weren't allowed to let on. They never revealled the perosn who sent the email but we'll find out next week.

Come Dine With Me's Dave Lamb is to host new CBBC series Gory Games.

Lamb will team up with Horrible Histories character Rattus Rattus to present the 13-episode run of the gameshow, which will feature horrible historians battling it out for "a putrid prize".

Horrible Histories author Terry Deary and actors Simon Farnaby, Jim Howick, Martha Howe-Douglas, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond will all take part in the programme, which will launch later this year.

CBBC controller Damian Kavanagh said: "We are delighted to welcome Gory Games to CBBC. The series is being made by the revoltingly talented team behind Horrible Histories and we're sure that Gory Games will be a hideous hit too!"

Horrible Histories picked up the 'Best Sketch Show' gong at last month's British Comedy Awards.
