Coronation Street chiefs are planning to increase the role of newcomer Michelle Keegan.

Michelle, who plays David Platt's girlfriend Tina McIntyre, has been a hit with fans of the soap in recent months and producers are now hoping to capitalise on her success.

An insider told The People: "Tina will fall out with her parents and turn up on the Platts' doorstep for a place to stay. We will introduce her wider family so we can create more storylines for her. It shows how impressed everyone is with Michelle."

Reece Dinsdale, known for his role as Matthew Willows in sitcom Home to Roost, has signed up to play Michelle's on-screen father.

Yeah this is good news. I think she is talented, and takes a good role.

I've only started watching it again lately, and there is a really annoying girl - the actress who's playing her is totally OTT, and actually I want to smack her one...think she's called Lauren(?)...she works in the pub. Anyone else find her annoying????

yes shes awful, i remember her in hollyoaks and she was just as bad in that aswell.

Yep i think shes awful too, she seems to move her mouth far too much when she speaks and looks very sarcastic all the time. Very annoying! I'm sure she wont be in it much longer, or at least i'm hoping.

Yeah, lets keep our fingers crossed that she willl be going soon!!! What the peeps at Corrie were on when they gave her the post is beyond me - total overacting all the time. Maybe she thinks she's in a panto, not a soap.

She is Violet's sister and she is leaving Corrie shortly, I don't like the way she is ripping everybody off.
