EASTENDERS actors threatened to halt filming and go home after scenes being shot on a beach were disrupted by a gang of abusive yobs.

Stars including Rob Kazinsky (Sean), Rita Simons (Roxy) and Barbara Windsor (Peggy Mitchell) were yelled at by the thugs.

The actors were so upset they threatened to walk off the set in Weymouth, Dorset, unless bosses brought in extra security.

A show insider said yesterday: “The lads were screaming sexual slurs and abuse.

“Some of the cast threatened to get on the first train back to London. There are a lot of fans watching the filming, which is not a problem. But this gang stunned everyone with their abuse. They upset the cast.”

The stars where filming a scene in which the Mitchell sisters Roxy and Ronnie (Samantha Janus) track down their long-lost uncle.

I thought there was going to be extra security anyway because the producers didn't want any leaks on the storyline.

Obiously not enough at the time. I always thought that they pretty much block off the area where the filming takes place .

I doubt the blocking off the area is little more than police type tape.

It's a shame the yobs couldn't control themselves, the bosses should've just called the police to move them on.

They should invest in some security, if it makes the actors feel safer.

its easier to block off a street or a couple of buildings, a beach is a bit more difficult!
