Two more residents are leaving Emmerdale

MORE stars are fleeing Emmerdale following the arrival of boss from hell Anita Turner.

Actress Verity Rushworth, who plays dippy policewoman Donna Windsor-Dingle has told execs she wants time out after more than ten years in the Dales.

And Jenna-Louise Coleman has told fellow cast members she’s ready to leave her role as wannabe journalist Jasmine Thomas.

The news is a blow to fans. Last week we revealed that gay characters Grayson Sinclair and Jonny Foster, played by Christopher Villiers and Richard Grieve, are to go too.

A source said of Jenna-Louise and Verity: “Both stars are contracted until December but they’ve warned bosses they don’t see themselves staying. Their final scenes will air early next year.”

Newcomer Ayden Callaghan is another victim of Anita’s axe.

His rich-kid character Miles De Souza will be killed off this year.

An Emmerdale spokesman said last night: “Verity and Jenna both expressed an interest last year in taking a break. Nothing will be confirmed until we begin contract negotiations for 2009.”

I shall miss Donna and Jasmine, haven't seen enough of Miles to care about him staying on or not, tbh, but why is he being killed off?

To be honest they are not really great losses. Jasmine has done nothing since the lesbian fling with Debbie and Donna is just annoying. Also glad to hear that Miles De Souza is leaving to.

Hopefully Marlon will meet someone else which will lead to Donna leaving. Although Marlon doesn't seem the type to have an affair. Surely even he can only put up with so much of Donna though - how annoying was she again last night when she was in the pub telling Daz she wants to see his documentation.

Emmerdale producers are hoping to dissuade Verity Rushworth from taking an extended break from the show.

An official statement from the soap earlier this month confirmed that the actress, who plays Donna Windsor-Dingle, may decide to take time off when her contract expires at the end of the year.

"Verity has been playing Donna for more than ten years so she's thinking about taking an extended break," an insider told the Daily Star Sunday. "It's only something that she's thinking about. No decision has been made yet.

"She's got some really exciting stuff coming and her contract doesn't run out until the end of the year, so there's still a bit of time to persuade her to stay. She'd be a huge loss."

To be honest I think the only thing that saved Marlon was getting married to donna. While she is annoying and no great loss to the show, nor would Marlon.

Like paddy , does Marlon not have any other acting style? its the same thing over and over and over. Shock look , roll on heels , hands up and down! Ddddonna! And if you chopped the hands off Paddy he would be totally lost, that constant hand ringing ah ......pause.

SEXY actress Jenna-Louise Coleman WILL quit the show at the end of the year.

There has been speculation that the star – who plays Jasmine Thomas – wanted to take a short break from the Dales.

But we can reveal that she will leave the show to pursue new projects when her contract expires in December.

Producers are keeping tight-lipped about her exit storyline but insiders say it may involve a Romeo and Juliet-style plot which sees her fall for someone her family dislike. She chooses love over her relatives. But 21-year-old Jenna’s character will definitely not be killed off.

New executive producer Anita Turner said: “We are not killing her off because she’s a character we would like to have back at some point.”

Meanwhile bosses still want Verity Rushworth to sign a new contract. Verity, 22, fears she could be typecast after playing Donna Dingle for 10 years.
