American drama coming to ITV2 soon. The trailors look really good and quite funny. I'm quite looking forward to it. Is anyone else going to watch it?

This is from ITV website.. saying what the show is..

“The facts of the case are these…” so says our narrator, veteran comedy actor Jim Dale, in episode one of this fairytale love story.
Little Ned is a young boy with a very special gift. He can bring people back to life with just one touch. It’s a skill he learns when his beloved pooch Digby gets hit by a truck. Just after impact the lovely retriever is up and about again.

But the story gets complicated when he discovers his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, has been murdered. Ned has been working for a private investigator who wants Chuck brought back to life for just enough time to reveal the identity of the killer. Then he wants Ned to touch her a second time, thereby consigning her to a second and permanent death. But can he do it?

Pushing Daisies stars British actress Anna Friel and Golden Globe nominee Lee Pace.

American drama is excellent. I think it is better than most British drama.

I'll give it a go. The black guy on the far right in the picture looks like Vogler from House season two.

It's been on the news that ITV are skipping straight to Episode 3 on Saturday, so they can accomodate the football for when Euro 2008 starts.. A silly, stupid decision made by ITV - proves they can't show anything half decent without cocking it up.

American Pie 2 has been shown a million times before, so why didn't they drop that last Saturday night and show Episode 2 of Pushing Daisies in its place?

Article from DS:

ITV will not screen the second episode of US drama Pushing Daisies because it doesn't have enough room on its schedule.

The show, which stars Lee Pace as a pie-maker who can bring people back to life, debuted to strong ratings on Saturday but ITV has confirmed it only has room to air eight of the nine episodes before the Euro 2008 football tournament starts.

A spokesman for ITV said: "Episode two was the only show we could drop without spoiling the storyline."

The second episode focuses on Pace's character Ned experimenting with his powers and recalling a moment from his childhood when he brought a dead frog back to life.

ITV added that the episode will "be shown at some point because the series will be repeated".

A second series of Pushing Daisies, created by former Heroes producer Bryan Fuller, will start filming later in the year.

Euro 2008 begins on June 7 with ITV and the BBC splitting coverage.

GULP! Rumours reach TV Biz that our new fave show, Pushing Daisies, could be given the, er, push.

Ratings for the surreal Anna Friel comedy drama have slipped since it launched on ITV last month – from 5.7million to 2.7million last Saturday.

A show insider said: “It’d be a shame if ITV boss Peter Fincham axed it because, despite the ratings, it is quality telly.”

So push off, Peter!

well i saw it was repeated pre watershed on itv2, and i didnt see it being an offensive show, so it beats me why ITV didn't put it on at a more family friendly time betwen 6 and 8 before Britiain's Got Talent, i'm sure it'd have got a lot more viewers than at 9 on a Saturday night

wouldn't have thought so, people die all the time in pre watershed shows, and it's all very light hearted fun in this show anyway.

i love how the two main characters cant make contact with one another despite their love, clever bit of storytelling there, and the end of the first episode was so sweet

LOOKS like Pushing Daisies has come back from the dead — the show is returning to ITV next year.

The drama about bringing the deceased back to life, starring former Brookside babe Anna Friel, 31, looked like it might be axed after ratings halved.

But bosses have decided to stick with it as a cult offering.

An insider said: “It’s one of those shows that doesn’t necessarily get massive numbers but it’s good for the channel’s profile.” It will again air in a peaktime slot.

Q&A: 'Pushing Daisies' man talks 'Heroes'

Pushing Daisies was arguably the most promising new series of last season. A clever conceit, fairytale visuals and quirky storytelling ticked all the boxes necessary to get the critics fawning and the viewers hooked. But in a cruel twist, the writers' strike vanquished the show's steam, cutting the first season short at just nine episodes. As the series gears up to return to the air, creator Bryan Fuller fills us in on the story so far - and gives his opinion on the recent performance of Heroes.

How did you come up with the idea for the show?
"I had created a show a few years ago called Dead Like Me, which is about a young girl who dies and becomes a grim reaper. She was touching people and claiming their lives, so the inverse of her ability occurred to me: somebody who could touch and give life back. I thought he would be an interesting foil to this character. But halfway through the first season of Dead Like Me, I left that show to create a show called Wonderfalls, where I met Lee Pace (Ned), so I put that idea in the back pocket. A year or two later I went into WB TV and pitched Pushing Daisies."

Is it hard to maintain the show's unusual style?
"I don't think it's tough to do, because the writing staff I have assembled is pretty fantastic. Everybody gets the voice of the show. We're constantly coming up with ideas for odd stories and characters you wouldn't normally see on television. It's easier than you'd think when you put an orange cone around what's already been done. It becomes a clearer path to follow when you know what you don't want to do."

You've had a few scenes where the characters break out into song. Would you ever go all the way and do a full musical episode?
"When we cast Kristin Chenoweth (Olive), Ellen Greene (Aunt Viv) and Anna Friel (Chuck), who all have amazing voices, I was like 'we have to do a musical episode'. The network liked the idea of us doing a musical episode, but not in the first twelve episodes. Doing the individual music numbers - we've done three in the first nine episodes - was motivated by me not waiting to see these characters break out into song. The way we do it is more sort of Moulin Rouge; taking a song that's already been done and re-imagining it for the context of our characters and story. It feels like that's more our trademark, as opposed to a complete episode."

How often will you do the musical numbers going forwards?
"Every two or three episodes we'll have a song. Kristin Chenoweth, who's the cat's PJs, came up to me and said 'I want to sing 'Eternal Flame' by the Bangles. So we're going to do that. There are definitely going to be more musical interludes!"

Have you planned the development of the show beyond the current season?
"Yeah, especially after season one was [disrupted] by the writers' strike. I have rough arcs for the characters for the first three seasons, so I'm hoping that if we go for many seasons, the ideas for seasons four and beyond will occur to me before we get there!"

You were part of the creative team behind the first season of Heroes. Do you think the criticism of season two was fair?
"I think one of the things that was so special about the first season was these characters discovering their abilities. The central metaphor for the characters was very clean and clear: you have the indestructible teenager; the single mother who has so much on her plate she needs two personalities to take care of it; the arrogant politician, so arrogant he could fly. In the second season it felt like that the central core to those characters was re-examined in a way that maybe lost a little bit of its heart."

Where do you think they went wrong?
"I think one of the problems was there was a redundancy to some of the stories in the first season. I worked on Star Trek for five years and one of my frustrations with that show was the magical 'history eraser' button at the end of every episode, so you didn't have any sense of serialisation. In Heroes season two there were a lot of things that weren't taken advantage of, such as the Niki character. Ali Larter's an amazing actress and as much as I loved the new characters, I missed a more thorough explanation of what was happening to the characters I'd grown attached to in the first season."

What do you mean by "redundancies"?
"In the first season we broke up the characters so that each writer had a different character and wrote for that character for all the episodes. I was primarily writing for Claire so I became very attached to that arc. Hayden Panettiere is such an amazing actress - she could read the 'phone book and it would be watchable - but it seemed like that the Claire-HRG relationship was going over familiar territory in the second season. I felt like I had seen those scenes before and so Claire's story suffered from redundancies."

Pushing Daisies season two begins in the US in September and will air on ITV1 early in 2009.

Arguably the best new series to emerge from the troubled 2007-08 US television season, quirky comedy drama Pushing Daisies is back on ITV for its second season. But in a cruel twist of strike-induced fate, the second season will be its last. As the show prepared to tear down its set, we grabbed a farewell chat with the delightful Kristin Chenoweth, who plays Ned's unrequited love interest Olive.

What do you like about Olive?
"I love that she used to be a horse jockey. I love that she’s a little off. I like the way she was always used to getting the guy, but now she can’t. She can’t let go and there are a lot of women out there like that. We’ve all known them. I’ve even been one myself! She’s not a very good waitress or pie maker, but it doesn’t matter."

Which of her characteristics is the most endearing?
"I love the way she’s a dork and very accident-prone. I love that because things happen to me, too. I broke my ribs last year and I recently got bit by a brown recluse spider and ended up in hospital. And the other day I was riding on the bus when the ceiling fell on me. It didn’t fall on anybody else, just me. That’s so Olive."

What’s in store for Olive in the second season?
"I get to go to a nunnery this season, which is a great three-episode arc. I work with a pig, so it’s all good. Eventually, she will be brought in on the mod squad and she really wants to be involved in solving the crimes, but she’s not very good at that either. You’ll also see Chuck and Olive love each other in a sisterly relationship."

What is it like to work with a pig?
"I’m from the country and I teased my two cousins my whole life about showing pigs. I’d laugh at them because I’d be at cheerleading camp and they’d be showing pigs, which is a bit weird when you’re growing up. But now they’re laughing because I’m the one working with pigs."

Is it difficult?
"I’ve been working with the pig trainer a lot. I’ve discovered you have to give them a lot of treats when they do something right – but soon after, a certain smell arises. At that point, the scene is over and it’s time to wrap."

Was it your idea to have Olive sing in the show?
"Oh no. I wanted to stay far away from that. But Bryan [Fuller, creator] said that fans were wanting it, so he wanted to give it to them. I didn’t want to just break into song – but he interspersed it with dialogue. Our show lends itself to music pretty well and I am a singer, so it did work out – but I probably would’ve been opposed to it if it didn’t blend in well."

How did you feel about your recent Emmy nomination?
"I was very surprised! In the pilot, Olive had three scenes and I knew where the character was going to go – but I’m just happy the writers took her where they said they would take her. I was supposed to do Young Frankenstein on Broadway when this role came up and I took a big risk to make this show, but I think it was the right decision for me. The Emmy nomination doesn’t matter. It was the right decision because I love this character so much and it’s such a wonderful show."

We all know that season two of Pushing Daisies will be its last, but what you might not know is this: the UK will get the final three episodes before the US!

We've also heard a few tidbits about the final few shows:

Ned loses his life-restoring abilities

Olive takes a shine to a taxidermist Randy

One half of the Aquadolls is murdered

Emerson and Simone's attempts at romance is thwarted by a death

A flashback gives some insight into Vivian and Lily's relationship
The first of the three episodes is due to air on ITV1 on Friday, April 17.

Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller has revealed details of the show's comic.

Fuller has been talking about continuing the show in comic book form since its cancellation last year.

"Issue #1 will hopefully be out in early 2011, issue #2 is being coloured as we speak, and issue #3 is being written," he told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.

"Our Emmy award-winning composer Jim Dooley and I have been talking about giving the audience a multimedia experience with the comic - specifically a score.

"We have no idea whether we can actually afford to do an actual Pushing Daisies comic soundtrack (because the cast has agreed to sing songs and those licensing fees are expensive), but Jim has already started composing musical cues that we will either release officially or stream for free online when the comic book is published."
