This is going to be a big hit in 2008 I predict. I swear any song that Timbaland produces is simply amazing, he is a musical genius!

Someone was saying on the radio earlier that it should be named "Justin Timberlake feat. Timbaland and Madonna" and I couldn't agree more. Justin and Timbaland deserve the credit for this, not her.

Digital Spy's Review Of The Single:

Those surprised by Madonna's decision to "go hip-hop" on new album Hard Candy might care to recall that the pop queen has worked with modish urban hitmakers before, on 1994's underrated Bedtime Stories album. Besides, without a proper US radio hit since 2001's 'Don't Tell Me', this grade 'A' attention-seeker was always going to gun for the world's biggest record-buying community. The means to that end? Timbaland.

Consequently, '4 Minutes' is exactly what you'd expect from a Madge/Timbaland hook-up: a state-of-the-art urban pop song circa 2008. As Madonna trades sexy, essentially meaningless slogans with Justin Timberlake ("What I need is a you intervention!"), Timbaland lays down a horn-fuelled groove, rich on drama, that leads to an urgent, synth-powered chorus. It's a terrifically exciting listen for sure, but, sadly, not one of Madonna's most indelible moments. In fact, '4 Minutes' could comfortably have slipped onto recent albums by Nelly Furtado and Gwen Stefani, leading to a slightly unnerving realisation: since when was Madonna content to follow the pack?

4/5 stars

Madonna has knocked Estelle and Kanye West off the top of the UK singles chart to score her 13th number one.

'4 Minutes', her duet with Justin Timberlake, zooms from four to one to become her first chart-topper since 2006's 'Sorry'.

Only Elvis Presley (21 number ones), The Beatles (17), Westlife (14) and Cliff Richard (14) have reached the summit more often than the pop queen.

Estelle and Kanye West's 'American Boy' is pushed into second place after four weeks at the top, with Sam Sparro slipping to third with 'Black and Gold'.

Notable climbs come from Swedish singer September, who jumps from nine to five with 'Cry For You', and Usher, who leaps from 14 to six with 'Love In This Club'.

Im a bit peed off theres no mention of him in that article ^^ he doesnt seem to be getting much credit for this and we all know its him whos made this song what it is. fair enough well done madge but i doubt this would have been half as successful without the help of him and Justin. lets see if her next (solo) single is as good ;)
