Hope you are all ok who live in the area I don't. I suppose more details of structural damage etc. will become known during the day. Must be scary

Didn't feel a thing, though if there were tremors, I would have slept right through it anyway!

If I'd been asleep I wouldn't have noticed  I was awake though. I live in London though  It didn't last long, I just thought it was a big lorry (I live on a main road) I was a bit confused as to why the lorry would send vibrations through the living room and not my room as it usually does but I was tired and confused

My sister is in Northampton Uni she said her room was shaking a lot :p

I heard a bang (wardrobe doors began to shake) and then the bed seemed to move!!!

Glad in a way to find out it was an earthquake, as at the time I thought I was imagining it, being half a sleep....:o

Didn't feel it here.
In a way I wish I did feel it though. That might sound a little weird? Just would have been nice to experience I reckon.

I'm about 30 miles north of where the epicentre was. Some of the houses in town have been badly damaged and people have had to move out.

I woke up a few minutes before it happened so I wasn't fully awake. I thought to myself "its only an earthquake..." I wish I'd been properly awake, its not everyday that you witness an earthquake in this country.

My mum started screaming then ran downstairs and switched every light on.

I slept through which isn't a surprise as I live down South. There's this boy in my Geography class though who claims that he doesn't sleep well and therefore was still awake when it struck. He said he was on MSN at the time and felt it faintly, which I found quite shocking. He also said he was talking to someone who lived up North at the time and they felt the house shake.
