'Hollyoaks' star 'hopes for Walford role'

Hollyoaks star Roxanne McKee is planning to make a move to a "more popular" soap, according to a report.

The actress, who plays Louise Summers on the Channel 4 programme, has told friends that she would like to raise her profile by starring in BBC One's EastEnders.

"Roxanne has loved being in Hollyoaks but feels it is time to move on," a source told the Daily Star Sunday. "She's been in talks with her management about roles in the more popular soaps.

"Hollyoaks has been a great place for her to start out as an actress but she is ready for a fresh challenge."

Roxanne joined the soap in 2005. She previously worked as a waitress and recruitment consultant.

Aww I quite like her now after everything, even though I hated Louise to begin with, you never though, maybe she'll join the Bill, all the soap rejects, well from eastenders as least turn up there

the bill is where all the southern actors go after soap. She'll probably end up in Corrie or failing that Waterloo Road another retirement home for past soap stars.

A weekend tabloid report suggesting that Roxanne McKee has quit Hollyoaks in a bid for EastEnders stardom is completely untrue.

A spokeswoman at the soap confirmed that Roxanne is sticking with the Channel 4 soap for the foreseeable future.

The 27-year-old actress's character Louise Summers will become a main player in a forthcoming storyline strand alongside co-star Jamie Lomas, who plays her on-screen fiancée Warren Fox. The plot sees Warren's past creep up on him and Louise in a way that he could never have imagined...
