What is everybody's feelings towards the process of extraordinary rendition, reportedly carried out by the United States?

Do you agree with it? Can torture ever be justified? Is waterboarding tantamount to torture?

More info on extraordinary rendition is available here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraordinary_rendition).

I don't believe torture is ever justified. Ok so this person may be a terrorist, but what if they are not? What if you've forced a confession out of someone just because they want the torture to stop? There's too much of a chance of that happening.
Waterbounding is definately torture, it's making someone believe they are drowning...Talk to suspects not torture them.

So many people have confessed to things they did not do, just to stop being tortured - it is inhumane and cruel. The same with waterboarding, this can lead to injuries and death and the psychological effects of this and any other torture may never be overcome by a victim.
