'Silent All These Years'

Airs on Saturday, March 1 2008 at 20:20 GMT on BBC One

Harry tells Marilyn that he has decided not to publish Ruth’s diary. Marilyn is pleased to hear this and hands the Board’s press statement to a journalist, Malcolm.

It’s Toby’s first day back, he looks apprehensive as he arrives. Maggie is talking about Ruth and saying how she’ll pull through. She suggests Toby go up and see her, but he doesn’t. Marilyn approaches Toby, to welcome him back. She tells him Ruth’s orthopaedic surgical rotation is available and that he should apply to do it.

Meanwhile, Tess is asking where Jessica is, and Adam covers for her. Later, Tess spots Jessica and comments on how long it took her to deal with the child in paediatrics. Jessica is puzzled and reminds Tess she had booked some time off and wasn’t due to start till 4pm. Adam is there too and feels stupid when he realises his cover for Jessica was unnecessary.

Later, Toby is under pressure to do an intubation - unaided...

I think it will take Toby and Abs a while to recover from what has happened to Ruth. He might try and hide it but it will have long-term effects on all the staff.

Poor Toby, I agree, I think it'll take him a while to get back up to the level of confidence he had before - and let's face it, that wasn't exactly high!

On another point, is Marilyn the world's most insensitive woman, or just incredibly stupid? Or a little bit of both. "Hmm, you found her hanging, do you want her job?" :wall: Silly woman.

Marylin infuriates me  She's so insensitive, she just wants to brush the whole thing under the carpet!

Somehow I don't think Toby's going to be eager to steal Ruth's job from under her comotose nose! :p

According to listings on Sky and BBC website, Casualty is not on this Saturday due to Six Nations rugby. On Casualty website it still says it's on Saturday. Does anyone know when it is actually on? Thanks!

I just found this on radio times...:hmm:
New technician Curtis starts, and Harry makes the decision to release Ruth's diary to the press and reveal what really happened.

 No, Harry, you can't! I understand why he wants to, not least to wipe that look off of mental Marilyn's face, but he can't do that to Ruth.

I dread to think what her reaction will be if he does publish it, and she wakes up and finds out...she'll be distressed enough at finding out she's still alive!
