Do you give your loved ones a card and a present and do you go for a meal or do you stay in and cook a romantic meal yourself? I give my OH a card and sometimes some flowers :love: and certainly don't do any cooking (better for a harmonious evening :lol: ). So what do you good people out there do?

Someone said they were going to give me a valentines card this year :p. But he's on holiday for 3 weeks. So said it would be late haha! Don't know if he meant it though :p. Soon find out.
I've only ever had 2 valentines card in my life :lol:. Never had a bf on V day :p.
Aww, I am sure you will still get loads of cards from all your secret admirers. :lol:

I tend to agree with that, you should show your love every day, not because the calendar tells you to. I still enjoy being taken for a meal though. :lol:

I don't want one from Stalker Boy. He harasses my friends, constantly talks about me at his college and won't stop texting me. He also has pictures of me from new year's eve that somebody else's dad took. I thought he would have got the message when I stopped replying to his messages but he's as keen as ever :angry: I wish he would stop telling me he's in love with me :rolleyes:
I would like to get one from the other lad I'm kinda seeing. I don't know if I should get him one. He split from his girlfriend a few weeks ago so he is single but I think sending a card may be too much as we're just casual. He did ask me the other day what I was doing on Thursday. I thought he was going to ask me out for a meal or something but he just said "oh, ok" when I said I didn't know.
I never had anything or given anything. But this year me and my friend are getting each other soemthing :p

Good on you, girl. Mind you, some couples only go through the motions because it is expected of them, they are not necessarily all loved up, just because they are out together.
I had nothing this year. I've had 3 cards in the past, but never had a boyfriend on Valentines. It was quite funny because my school set up a valentines post box so this boy put in a card and a present for this girl and paid £2 to send it without her knowing it was from him, and it was obvious to her he sent it because they delivered it while he was in the lesson and he went absolutely bright red - don't think he banked on it being delivered in that lesson; he won't like prompt delivery any more! :lol:
Another year has passed and another Valentine's Day is coming up in a couple of days. Have any of your views changed? Do you feel different now perhaps because you are in a steady relationship or do you feel different because you no longer are? What will you be doing this Saturday? :love: :heart: :wub:

i hate valentines day, doesnt matter if i have a boyfriend or not, i still dont like it
it is just me and my son this valentines (boyf in Germany and daughter out with her dad) so I am taken him to burger king
I have booked a table in a nice restaurant in town for Saturday night and shall be treating OH to a nice meal. His turn to treat me in a couple of weeks :D
My hubby always spends a forturne on red roses from interflora. I really don't appreciate them - the hardly last 5 days and cost £50. A total waste if you ask me.
I do appreciate the champagne though!

It's a club in my town called Aura I really am not keen on going as I don't like Valentines either.
Im babysitting! Haha! Got nothing better to do, never had a boyfriend over Valentine's - never got a card either, well i did one from a little boy i babysit :D What a cutie!

Valentines is a commercial event nowadays. I don't believe there should be one day that people should say they love each other with extravagant gestures or meals out. Or whatever people do on Valentines day. :lol:

Well I will just have to come on here and get all my valentine kisses. Hope the postman doesn't do his back an injury delivering all the cards. :lol: Las year Marley asked her judo coach Janice if her husband George was taking her somewere nice and romantic for Valentine's day. Janice said aye doll he's taking me to the burger van outside B&Q. Marley's reply was cool they make great burgers :rotfl:

:lol: This so reminds me of a conversation I had with my pal Michelle last weekend. She's single as well and we were talking about River City. There was a scene with one of the female characters Iona moaning about not having a man. She said if she didn't find a man soon she would end up lonely and bitter with just her cat for company. We fell about laughing as we both said at the same time I know how you feel :lol:

Police have arrested six members of a hard-line Hindu group for attacking and cutting the hair of three couples on Valentine's Day near the Taj Mahal - India's white-marble monument to love.
Meanwhile, members of another group vandalised a shop selling Valentine's cards and raided a restaurant looking for romantic couples in the Indian portion of Kashmir.
Public displays of love are frowned upon by the older generation in India. Kissing, holding hands and cuddling are all social taboos, though the influx of Western culture has made it a more common practice among younger couples.
The protesters used scissors to cut the hair of overtly romantic young couples in a park in the northern Indian city of Agra, said superintendent of police V.P. Ashok.
"The six belonging to Shiv Sena group were arrested for causing a breach of the peace," he told The Associated Press.
Agra is the site of the Taj Mahal, a monument built by the Mogul Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632 and 1654 in memory of his favourite wife.
The protests by groups like Shiv Sena - which says it is defending traditional Indian values from Western promiscuity - have become an annual event on Valentine's Day.
Authorities tightened security this year in major Indian cities in an attempt to prevent attacks.
India's economic surge in recent years has brought with it the trappings of Western culture, including McDonald's, MTV and Valentine's Day. Shops stock cards and chocolates, vendors sell red roses and restaurants offer romantic specials.
In Srinagar, the main city in Indian-controlled Kashmir, a half dozen burqa-clad members of the radical Islamic women's group Dukhtaran-e-Millat tore up Valentine's Day cards in a gift shop, shop owner Shaukat Ahmed said. The protesters also entered a restaurant looking for couples celebrating their love but didn't find any.

that sounds like a good idea! i hate it when you have to wear the colour cos i dont own anything green! although wearing orange means you can be picky lol!

I was a work and my boss gave me a present, It was what they were gonna give to people if they ran out, but she gave it to me at the start of the night and it was still a nice thought, my first and only ever valentine gift

I had alot of tables to clean after strangers! Funnn.
Nah we had a nice customer, he was Uni-ish age and with some friends but they needed a table we hadn't got too yet cos we were so busy so I got one of the other girls in work to help me and the one guy went "I'm not used to haveing really attractive girls clean up for me" and hsi friend was like... you can't say that in front of them and he replied "but it's true, and it's Valentines day... I'm jsut spreading a little bit of loooove!" Haha he wasn't a hottie but it was still nice... though I think he needed his eyes checked!
Lol it was kirsty :p It made me feel happy even though it was from my boss
Working last night wasnt as bad as I thought it was gonna be, the people were really nice even though it was busy and every table was booked, we didnt go mad lol

The only depressing thing I find out it, is Ive never been given a card and then last night at work my boss asked me ' How many cards did you get then?' I was like none

Had a fit guy come in Valentines night (work in a restaurant/holiday park) and well he had a bit of problems .. cos his mum booked him and his gf in to one of the restaurants.. but he wasn't sure which one..... so he came in enquiring... and then when the supervisor was finding out about it.. he was talking to us all.. he was SO fit.. and had a lush Welsh accent ( I love strong Welsh accents :p).. and ahhh :p. Shame he has a gf. He was also telling us.. how he turned down free tickets of a mate to the Wales/England match on V day... because of his gf.. we were like WHY WHY would yo do that!! :p He is majorly fit and sweet. Came in tonight as well, he just loves to talk :p So cute. *breathes*

ive only ever got 2 valentines day cards, one when i was 6 lol and one from the only time ive had a boyfriend on valentines day (i told him not to get me one but he did anyway, i didnt get him one!), and i made a card once when i was 6 for the boy who gave me one!

Personally speaking I also don´t believe in it as it is rather a commercial thing... romance and affection should be shown on a daily basis, it does not need a particular day of a year to demonstrate that :D
