According to back to the bay Kirsty & Kane are due to make a guest appearence in home and away in June. Kane is returning for a short stint, and Kirsty for a longer one.
Whereabouts did you find it on the website? I can't find it.

Lets see the clues - Back to the Bay, obviously means someone is returning....then we have the lyrics from 'I Got You Babe', coupled together with a picture of some rocks....yup you guessed it, it can only mean one thing....
Kirsty & Kane!
KK will be returning to Summer Bay in June 2008, Kane for a short stint, and Kirsty for a longer one. It is one of the last things that Bevan has put in place before finishing his current stint as Script Producer. As for their reasons for returning, or why Kane isn't around for long - then you'll just have to wait and see.
When I found out a few months ago, I thought that it would be a nice idea to talk to someone close to KK.....and so we can now bring you a special message from the man himself - the main star of the KK saga - whose move to Hollywood was documented in his popular chronicles on this very forum, which have been sadly lost since.

Dear Dan and all my adoring fans at BTTB ,
Thank you for the birthday cards, I only got 22,769 this year because I did not tell the fans where I am, but I spotted yours immediately. The model of Summer Bay made out of beer mats and bottle tops must have taken you ages. We only had a small party, just 500 or so attended this year. JJ (Abrams) hosted a very classy do at the studio - so nice of him, the man is a legend. Don't tell anyone, - it's top secret - but I have been cast as Chris Hemsworth's kid brother, and Captain James T. Kirk's Uncle, in the new Trekkie movie, so it's quite like old times, though between you and me he is being a bit difficult. My Winnebago is bigger than his, and he is demanding that my last 3 scenes are cut - I acted him off the screen when I rescued him from some Klingons. I offered to give him coaching but he stalked off in a huffle. JJ is not impressed.
The other big news is that I got a desperate call from Uncle Bevan who is very eager for me to return. Of course since he rescued me all those years ago from that awful drug den and from his dastardly evil twin brother Doctor Dev I could hardly refuse. So I said I would return if Sam and Christie came along too. He couldn't say no, though he did make me promise not to tell them I was getting paid five times more then them. So Kirsty, Kane and Eduardo will drive Back to Summer Bay and will hopefully blow Jack and Martha of the map. Irene is getting the spare room ready, Colleen is baking a cake, and Alf is practicing his "strike me roan it's Kirsty and Kane." They have cleared out and redecorated my old dressing room and emptied out two extra rooms ready for all the expected fan mail for Kirsty and Kane and rented three large warehouses for all of mine.
I will also be very glad to be back in Australia as I have been stalked by that Lindsay Lohan person who seems to be oddly insatiable. She pounces on me every time she seems me. It really is embarrassing. Being irresistible is quite a burden you know. I am quite used to screaming fans surrounding the Winnebago, but Lindsay is something else. We are thinking about a restraining order as the poor dear obviously needs to go into therapy.
My adoring fans might also like to know that Bec and Lleyton are allowing me to use their Palm Beach pad as a base, so they will be able to get autographs and pictures during filming breaks; and I will be attending Christie's wedding in February. I was going to be Christie's best man/ male bridesmaid, but we decided it would take too much attention away from the bride and groom if I was, and the press would go nuts. It is their day after all. I do have a very nice new Armani suit for the occasion and I sure it will look fantastic in the photos. We will all start work on Uncle Bev's fantastic scripts as soon as Christie comes back from her honeymoon.
I hope you like the snaps. Nic, Brad, JJ, Chris, Chris, and Sharni all send their love from LA. JJ is on the look out for a new cameraman, as one of the current lot went barmy and shot the sound man, the grip, and the makeup artist, so I am putting in a good word for you Dan.

Why would they return to Summer Bay? They have no family or friends there (maybe only Irene)
I didn't like Kirsty and Kane as a couple or their characters.
I couldn't believe Kirsty went with him after he raped her sister Dani.
Kirsty reminded me of another annoying character Cassie

Kirsty kinda has family. Rhys was married to Beth so Matilda is her step sister. And Tasha is supposedly coming back as well.

i really liked KK, although if they did return they would have to have a toddler in tow, considering kirsty was pregnant when they left
She could have had another miscarriage. She left in 2005 so the child would be about 2/3.

I wasnt fond of the family in general except kirsty and max. Dani was so stuck up herself and jade (was never really fond of her) but Kirsty i did like her she was so different from the rest

Yes. I'm not sure if Dani is coming back, nothing has been confirmed yet.

im looking forward to seeing what happens when kane and kirsty come back since they left as fugitives after kane got set up by his dad for a crime and got found guilty

Kane isn't staying long so maybe he hands himself in or gets caught. I can't imagine that he would get caught because only Irene, Leah and Matilda are the only ones left from when they were around (I think).

They were the Jack and Martha of Summer Bay. Several years ago Kirsty and Kane were the couple that couldn't be separated, they were truly soulmates. But faced such adversity in The Bay, they decided they would runaway together to avoid being torn apart.
Living on the run, with their three-year old son Oliver, has becoming increasingly tough for the young couple. Never having enough money or a place to call home is taking it's toll. When Ollie gets sick, the only person they can trust to help is Irene. They know they are putting her in a dangerous position but they fear they have no other choice.
But lets recap, on The Kirsty and Kane Story. Actress Christie Hayes describes them as nothing less than “destined to be together, sort of star-crossed, so when they’re together everything just explodes.” And explode they did! These two rarely had a peaceful moment in their relationship while in the Bay.
Kane entered the Sutherland’s life when he fell for Kirsty’s sister Dani. Then after being accused of allegedly assaulting Dani, Kane left the Bay for a while to re-assess his life. Upon his return he sought counselling, but still was refused forgiveness by the Sutherland family.
That’s when fate stepped in making Kane the heroic crewman who saved the passengers on board a boating trip in the Bay. Despite his heroism, he still was not accepted by the family, even after saving Mrs Sutherland from a snake bite while he, she, and Kirsty were stranded for a week after the accident on an island. When they got off the island Kirsty and Kane were put in hospital care, which is where they began to bond. After being released, their bond grew to friendship, which grew to love and Kristy and Kane soon started a secret relationship.
Her family tried to stop their forbidden romance, but it only drove the love struck couple closer together. Kirsty and Kane fled Summer Bay three times, the first time returning because Kirsty missed her family too much. Kane tried to let her go, but could not live without his true love and returned to the Bay to regain her love. Despite romances in his absence, when Kane returned to Summer Bay he stole Kirsty’s heart all over again.
Kane saved the Sutherland family yet again from being trapped in a cave, but when he later proposed to Kirsty, giving her an engagement ring with his bandaged hands, her family were less than happy. But this didn't hold them back and they still got married.
When they returned as Mr and Mrs Phillips they turned to Irene for a place to stay which she allowed, on the condition they told Kirsty’s parents about the marriage. She pretended she was pregnant and with this news, her family could not object to their relationship. This exciting news had Kane over the moon until he found out she had lied. The couple faced more hardships causing them to separate for a while, but it wasn't long until their intense magnetism brought them back together, and this time Kirsty truly was pregnant with a little boy.
In due time Kane was accepted in the Bay, and the couple lived for a short while in peace. They even renewed their vows with the big wedding Kirsty had always dreamed of. But during the pregnancy Kane was falsely convicted of a crime committed by his father and the two lovers fled the Bay again. They have been living anonymously and on the run ever since.
Will their return mean please and stablilty for this young family? Who knows, it is Summer Bay afterall!

i cant wait, Home and Away is so good at the minute this looks like something that will be really good to look forward to. Its weird how few of the old cast are left i thought there was a lot more than that but really its only alf colleen morag leah and irene like yu say. Thats really weird.
Summer Bay's resident Sutherland (well, Phillips) is set to stick around longer with the news that Christie Hayes extending her contract from 3 to 6 months.
Ever since she came back to the bay, she has been a hit with producers and viewers alike. Rumours are also abound that a permanent status is also around the corner.
