Susan's family reach breaking point
Airs on Monday, February 4 2008 at 17:35 GMT on BBC One

Susan is stung by Miranda’s rejection and continues with her belief that she must be punished for the accident. Karl, Zeke and Rachel are stunned that Susan still wants to maintain her guilty plea and Karl goes to Toadie for more advice. Karl’s day gets worse when a date for Susan’s committal hearing is set, and he discovers that Zeke and Rachel have skipped school.

However, when he vents his frustration at them, it becomes clear they had good cause - they were commemorating their (dead) mother Francesca’s birthday. Karl and Susan feel awful, but hurt Rachel makes Susan’s guilt even worse – she asks Susan why she isn’t fighting the charges against her, aren’t she and Zeke worth fighting for? Susan finally gives in to the wishes of her family and agrees to her change her plea.

Bridget’s determined to go back to school without her crutches. But when she tries to walk without them she falls. Humiliated, she tells Steve she’s not feeling well and will be staying home. Sympathetic Steve won’t push it but Rachel wants to get to the bottom of Bridget’s fear. Rachel assures Bridget that no one at school, particularly Declan will give her a hard time about the crutches but Bridget remains unconvinced. When Declan knocks at her door, Bridget’s fears win out and she leaves Declan frustrated on the doorstep.

Frazer surprises Rosie with his new job – he’s a cab driver! While Rosie tries to remain supportive it’s clear she has reservations about Frazer’s new career choice. Frazer assures Rosie it’s just a trial, something he can do until he sorts out his future. Rosie has previously promised Frazer that she would support him in whatever career path he chooses but this is a dangerous job and her support will be a tough promise to keep.

Declan runs away

Susan’s moved by Zeke’s passionate appeal and decides to plead ‘not guilty’. Returning to work, Susan’s unable to keep control of the class and suffers a public embarrassment at the hands of an unforgiving Declan.

Declan feels the burden of his mother’s disappointment when she’s called to the school following his humiliation of Susan. Unable to inflict further pain on Rebecca, Declan decides to cut his losses and leave Erinsborough.

Rosie’s troubled by Toadie’s emotional investment in Susan’s case and suggests he step back from defending her in court. An argument between the partners sees Toadie turn to Harold as a sounding board – which helps Toadie realize he is too emotionally involved and needs to step back, Toadie apologises to Rosie and agrees to bring in a hired gun to defend Susan.

Steve leaves Sally, a heavily pregnant guinea pig, under Bridget’s care, hoping to boost her confidence and bring her out of her shell. He charges Riley to keep a surreptitious eye on her, and retreats to the General store. When Sally the guinea pig goes into labour, Bridget has to deliver the baby guinea pigs herself. It’s a small, but important step forward in restoring Bridget’s confidence in herself.

Carmella is drawn to Marco

Frazer alerts Oliver to Declan’s location – and the Napiers find him at the city railway station where Declan’s bound for Sydney. But Declan can’t go through with it, and pours his heart out to Rebecca – he’s leaving because he’s scared of the person he thinks he is, and he’s terrified of losing Rebecca’s love.

But Rebecca assures him that her love is unconditional, and takes him back to his childhood home to remind him of the happy boy he once was. Seemingly getting through to her son, Rebecca returns with him to Ramsay Street, intent on moving in with Paul and becoming a proper family at long last.

Carmella has a ‘business meeting’ with Marco and denies Rosie’s suspicion there’s a simmering romance at play. Carmella’s wowed by Marco’s pad, culinary skills and cheeky attitude, but she’s determined to deny her attraction and stick to business. However, when Marco does just that, she finds herself surprisingly disappointed.

Mickey catches Ned and Janae together
Airs on Thursday, February 7 2008 at 17:35 GMT on BBC One

Pepper starts tutoring troubled Ringo, and when his shame prevents him from coming clean about it with brainiac Rachel, Ringo feigns illness to get out of a movie date. When Rachel stumbles upon Ringo and Pepper ‘enjoying’ spending time together, Rachel fears a repeat of Carmella-gate. Has Ringo fallen for yet another older woman?

Carmella has a sexy dream about Marco that belies her claim she’s not attracted to him. When Rosie urges her to just enjoy Marco’s company without analysing it too much, Carmella invites him to Valda’s lingerie party. While at the party, Marco’s questions force her to face her unresolved feelings for Oliver, and when Marco’s back is turned she runs away leaving him completely at sea.

Valda has poured her heart, soul and wallet into making her internet business a success, and hosts a successful online launch at Charlie’s.

Ned and Janae struggle to find “alone time” in their busy schedules. Helpful Steve offers to look after Mickey, but Ned and Janae still get caught in the act.

Carmella has a pregnancy scare
Airs on Friday, February 8 2008 at 17:35 GMT on BBC One

Despite her reservations, pregnant Carmella finds herself drawn to Marco. However, she is determined to fight her attraction and sets boundaries for their partnership – business only. Marco’s response is to tell Carmella exactly how hot he is for her, but he promises not to act on it until she does. After a long working day, Carmella is struck by painful stomach cramps and Marco finds her in agony in his bathroom.

Convinced Pepper and Ringo are having an affair Rachel plays up in Pepper’s class. When Susan challenges Rachel about her disruptive behaviour, Rachel accuses Pepper of being in a relationship with Ringo. Pepper defends her reputation to Susan but is also tempted to expose the secret of Ringo’s eating disorder.

Meanwhile, Rachel decides to forgo her opportunity to attend the Advanced Literature Program in Canberra so she can stay in Erinsborough with Ringo. Karl and Susan try to convince her to go but Rachel stands firm, until Ringo fails to declare his love to her. Pepper challenges Ringo to tell Rachel the truth about his eating disorder, and declare his love for her, but he’s too late.

Ned and Janae’s attempt to explain the birds and the bees to Mickey, leaves him more confused than ever.

Valda has poured her heart, soul and wallet into making her internet business a success, but things take a nasty turn when customers complain they can’t log onto her site and she can’t contact anyone for help. Has poor Valda been taken for a ride?
