saw this last night and god is it wrist slitting, probably the most depressive film I've ever seen!
that aside it was enjoyable, well written and a good story. Never been a fan of Hilary Swank so that was a negative, but all in all not too bad!
lol all the girls I went were were sniffling throughout, not a one for those tissue box weepers out there!
saw this movie the other night and loved it i laughed and cried i would recommend it but bring tissues with you

I finally saw this film.
As much as I loved the film, I prefer the book, the film changed so much it felt like a let down to the book

Yeah I agree. I didn't like the film....was too many differences.
If I remember correctly wasn't the book set in Ireland?
Yeah it was, they changed soooooo much. I mean Holly in the book had a dad too. It became more like the film was about her and her mothers realtionship towards the end, which it isnt in the book

I haven't read the book but had been told about it so I had high expectations of the film. I don't know.. it didn't catch me as much as I thought it would. It wasn't as gripping as I expected it to be. :/

That annoyed me, and how they bought Ireland into the holiday and she slept with the randomer.

I know, that reallt annoyed me. I mean the whole Lilo bit was lost :( It was fishing instead :thumbsdow
I don't think there is a single book adaptation that I've felt has done the book justice, PS I love you included. I think books are generally always better as your own imagination creates the characters you read about and love throughout.

the green mile was one movie that was a bit better than the book cause the book was published in small series, it had to repeat itself at the start of every section to catch up.. Also Patriot games by Tom Clancy cause he is just impossible to read (I find) so movie was better
I think if I saw a film before a book, then I would prefer the film, but then again maybe not
I thought Holes was a great film for the book

I thought Holes was a great film for the book
yeh that was a good film, although i think i liked the book more. i think every film ive seen where ive read the book the book has been better - harry potter, the golden compass/northern lights, probably others i cant remember atm lol!
god that film made me want to slit my wrists? romantic - god no! suicidal!
Reading the book at the moment, it is brilliant, just love it.

I haven't read those books though.
Was meaning, in the sense of the films I've seen compared to the books I've read.
The Green Mile was a fantastic film, one that I'll never forget!
know what you mean.. in general the book is always better.. I was just given examples of books I read that the movie was better... Although, have to say that John Grisham's time to kill and pelican brief were very close to the book.. both great movies and both great books

I agree GREEN MILE was great,, actually a tad bit better than the series in the book,, Tom Clancy is hard to follow, I have been given loads of his books, ( English novels given to me by Dutch people,)I tried to read HUNT OF RED OCTOBER and Patroit Games,, I just couldn't get into the Military jargon ..so the movies sort of made loads of sense compared to the books, it was like a penny dropped after watching it,:p
