Okay wasnt really sure where to put this thread as its both for soaps and Drama series so I thought here would be the best place for both. Of course if suited for a better place, please move it.
I was just thinking have there been moments in a soap and drama series that brought you to tears. I find this happends alot to be. It makes the storylines more powerful, well done and memorbale.
Some moments that I can think of

Jamie Mitchells Death (Eastenders)
Boone's Death (Lost)
Baby Grace's Death (Hollyoaks)
Flynn telling sally about his cancer (Home and away)
Flynn's Death (home and away)
Ally's Death (Cutting it)
Rose leaving the doctor, well you know how is happened (Doctor Who)
The whole episode of Through the Looking Glass (Lost)

Thats all I can think of for now, but I know there is more

A few television moments that made me cry:

Mel Silver's death in Waking The Dead. :( I was in tears! My favourite character of them all! Never been the same since she died. I don't think I could bring myself to watch the "Shadowplay" episode again.

A moment in Bad Girls Series 1 made me cry too and that was when Monica's son who had Downs Syndrome died.

Danny's death and Zoe's exit in Spooks also brought a tear to my eye, as did Rose's exit in Doctor Who.

Unsure on the soaps really... I can't think of anything that stands out that made me cry.

I will probably think of some more and post them. :)

Not a soap or a drama so I don't know if it counts..

On 8 Simple Rules, the episode after John Ritter died :crying: - spesh where Bridget is about to go out the door and she says something like "Dad would never have let me get this far" or something - but aww that bit was so sad :p. I still cry when I see that episode. Never gets old!

the only time ive shed a tear over a soap was when Grace died on Hollyoaks, mainly due to Sarah Dunn's absolutely heartbreaking performance.

oh also when Brookie finished :o

Season 8 of ER when Dr Greene found out that his brain tumour had returned and it was terminal. I spent the next 20 weeks in bits watching him becoming worse and the episode where he left the ER and said goodbye to everyone was just heartbreaking because no-one knew how really ill he was.

Other lump in the throat moments:

The end of Season 4 of 24 when Jack had to fake his own death and he had a telephone converstion with his friend President Palmer. He said to Palmer " it had been a pleasure Mr President" and David Palmer answered "Same here my friend" You had to have been there to understand.

No doubt I will shed a few tears when dear old Vera departs from our screens in the New Year.

Dr. Greene has cancer . I never really watched when he was there, but I know who he is and he was a great character  (sister used to watch, I pretended not to watch :p).

Best Dr ever in County General (Sorry Luka) Dr Greene wasn't the hottest Dr on the show but he was the most caring and compasionate, and when his tumour returned early into series 8 you knew he was going to die and the writers made me suffer for 20 weeks. I was in my final year of my degree and had Friday morning in college we had a double period of accounts, which half of was used up discussing Thrusday's episode of ER.

He was really good! From what I remember! He was always the best there. Although my sister was in love with Noah Wyle's character. What's his name again?

And LMAO at the class!

That would be Dr Carter. Cute but not as cute as Dr Kovak

The only time i've ever cried when watching the TV was in Emmerdale, haha!! When Len dies, and all the stories come together, and that classical singer is singing "Time to say goodbye". I love that song.
