Tonight - 19.05.05

Dr. Morris (Scott Grimes) has been appointed the new chief resident and immediately locks horns with Dr. Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) as they deal with the casualties from a fire at an apartment building. Dr. Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) is taking out her frustration from not being tenured on Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle). Dr. Weaver (Laura Innes) tries to calm Lewis down, but only makes things worse. Ray (Shane West) heeds the advice of several doctors at the hospital and sends a teenaged sickle cell anemic patient home. :)

Does anyone know the hierarchy on ER? Is Chief resident what Pratt is? or is he just a resident? what are Neela and Abby? I thought they were residents now? I know Luka and Carter are Attendings which is higher and Lewis is cheif of staff which is the highest - i just get confused in the middle bit!

Susan is the chief of emergency medicine and in charge.
Next comes Kovac and Carter who are the attendings.
Pratt and Morris are the residents, and Morris has just been made chief resident (so he is now above Pratt)
Abby and Neela and Ray are interns
Then come the med students which is who jake is (Abby's boyfriend).

Thanks Tasha - I get so confused sometimes! I was sure that Morris was a student at the same time as Abby? Maybe it was just that Abby knew more than him even though she was a student and he was qualified.
