Sunday 23 December 2007

When Jimmy (Nick Miles) and Carl (Tom Lister) visit Matthew (Matt Healy) in prison, they're disturbed to see that he's been fighting. Losing patience, Matthew explodes, convinced that Gray (Christopher Villiers) has set him up, and demands to see Perdy (Georgia Slowe). Meanwhile when Perdy visits the Home Farm office, she is witness to a malicious viral against Matthew popping up on the Kings' computer, copied to all their clients. Back home, Perdy witnesses suspicious behaviour from Gray and starts to wonder what part he's played in Matthew's predicament. Will Perdy prove to be Matthew's saviour or stand by her man Gray?

Elsewhere, the villagers are struck down like flies, with food poisoning. A war of words breaks out with Viv (Deena Payne) blaming the Woolpack and Marlon (Mark Charnock) blaming the café. As Viv and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) and Marlon and Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) go head to head, the four soon realise that they purchased their meat from the same source - the Dingles. Is Shadrach responsible for bringing the village to its knees?

Meanwhile, the sickness causes havoc with Belle's (Eden Taylor-Draper) pantomime leaving her with huge casting problems. Desperately trying to get last minute replacements on board, will it be curtains down for Cinderbella before it's even started?

Monday 24 December 2007

Perdy (Georgia Slowe) visits Matthew (Matt Healy) in prison behind Gray's (Christopher Villiers) back. Upset that she doubts his innocence, Matthew presses home the point that the evidence could easily have been planted by a third person and, laying his cards on the table, makes clear his belief that it's Gray.

Perdy ingests his words but insists she has to leave, Matthew pleading with her not to give up on him as she exits. She later admits to Carl (Tom Lister) that Gray was behind the viral campaign, but is she ready to believe that Gray would go as far as to frame Matthew for murder?

Elsewhere, Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) struggles to keep Viv (Deena Payne) under control during rehearsals for the pantomime, as she insists on making changes to the script. With repeated mentions of theatrical taboo Macbeth bearing down upon them, the cast take to the stage. Will it be all right on the night?

Meanwhile over at the pub, Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) is determined to make Christmas Day one to remember, desperate for Jack (Clive Hornby) and the rest of the Sugden clan to put the past couple of months behind them. However her resolve crumbles slightly later after Jack is less than enthusiastic when she suggests he move into the Woolpack. Will Christmas Day be make or break for the Sugdens?

Tuesday 25 December 2007

After much furtive searching, Perdy's (Georgia Slowe) suspicions are confirmed when she opens Gray's (Christopher Villiers) briefcase and finds the missing cardigan, and letter from Rosemary proving that she's alive and kicking. Playing the long game, Perdy conceals what she knows but Gray's senses are heightened by her behaviour.

Panicking, Gray disappears with the suitcase, intending to burn the contents. However he's shocked when he discovers it to be empty. Armed with the evidence in question, Perdy waits at home to confront him. Will Perdy choose Matthew (Matt Healy) and insist Gray present his evidence to the police or will she be loyal to Gray and leave her lover to languish in prison?

Over at the Woolpack, Diane's (Elizabeth Estensen) enthusiasm and exuberance isn't shared by the rest of the awkward Sugden clan. However as the champagne flows and charades begins, relations appear to thaw until there's a knock at the door. Could Billy be about to hammer the final nail in the coffin of their marriage?

Elsewhere, Debbie (Charley Webb) is a driver down and tries to persuade Sam (James Hooton) into doing the Christmas Day shift. Determined to spend the day with his son, Sam refuses and instead talks Debbie into coming over to Jacobs Fold. Meanwhile the rest of the Dingles struggle to enjoy themselves, sad that Sam isn't in the fold. As each party stubbornly stews, are the Dingles destined to be lonesome this Christmas?

Wednesday 26 December 2007

Katie (Sammy Winward) is furious when Gray (Christopher Villiers) reveals to her that Perdy's (Georgia Slowe) left him for Matthew (Matt Healy). High, dry and pregnant, the young surrogate demands to know where that leaves her. Storming over to confront Perdy, Katie deals her a short shrift and admits that this recent development could change everything. Terrified, Perdy makes it Gray's problem to solve, blackmailing him into the bargain. Will Perdy do anything to avoid losing another baby?

Meanwhile, Jack (Clive Hornby) reveals to the rest of the family that his and Diane's (Elizabeth Estensen) marriage is over. While Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) takes great delight in rubbing it in Diane's face, Val (Charlie Hardwick) is quick to defend her sister. When she questions why Jack can't give Diane one more chance, he insists that it's over but Val sees that he's just as devastated as Diane. When she relays this back to her at the pub, Diane sees a glimmer of hope but is there anything left to be salvaged?

Thursday 27 December 2007

Gray (Christopher Villiers) desperately tries to convince Katie (Sammy Winward) to keep the baby but she's adamant that she was having the child for Perdy (Georgia Slowe) and him, not Perdy and Matthew (Matt Healy). Later when the police visit with bad news for Gray, it's left to Katie to comfort him. Using the opportunity to ask her to change her mind, Katie is torn. Will she carry on with the pregnancy, and if so, who will bring up baby?

Elsewhere Jack (Clive Hornby) asks Greg (Shaun Prendergast) to hurry along the building work on Annie's as he wants to sell as soon as possible. Greg and Mel (Caroline Strong) decide to put in an offer and Jack is left to consider. When Diane later overhears the plans for Jack to sell their home, she confides in Val (Charlie Hardwick) about her devastation. As Jack makes steps to shed himself of both Diane and Annie's, is he finally ready for a fresh start?

Friday 28 December 2007

David (Matthew Wolfenden) and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) imagine their wealthy future together and become excited when Nicola receives a call from the hospital to say there's been a significant change in Donald's (Michael Jayston) condition.

Rushing into the ward, they're disappointed to find him still alive and are further shocked when he reaches out and grabs Nicola's arm. Having come round, Donald claims to remember who Miles (Ayden Callaghan) is but has no recollection of Nicola's existence. Could the reluctant wife's road to riches prove to be rockier than first thought?

Meanwhile Diane (Elizabeth Estenson) is jealous when she learns that Mel (Caroline Strong) has been discussing the house sale with Jack (Clive Hornby), leaving her out in the cold with regards to his plans. Concerned that Mel is looking to speed the house sale along as soon as possible, will Diane concede defeat over a future with Jack?

Later in the pub, both feeling sorry for themselves, Diane and Gray (Christopher Villiers) drown their sorrows in the Woolpack and lament their losses. When Diane leaves him to take a phone call, a vulnerable Gray sees an opportunity to make a pass at Paul (Mathew Bose).

It doesn't actually say Perdy gets Matthew off, hope she does, I like both of them together.
