Westlife have responded to Brian McFadden's recent declaration that he would like to rejoin the group.
According to The Sun, Shane Filan said: "I don't think it's even remotely interesting if Brian came back."

"Brian left because he didn't like being in the band. It wasn't because we fell out. For us as a band, we never split up. We've kept going and are very happy."

"If another person came in it would be like restarting a new band."

Referring to the comparison between a possible Westlife reunion and the return of Robbie Williams to Take That, he said: "Robbie Williams coming back to Take That was a big announcement."

"He's the biggest male solo performer of the past 20 years. You can't compare it."

Kian Egan said: "[McFadden] doesn't live in this country and is not in the music industry anymore."

Earlier this week McFadden posted a message on Twitter, saying: "If I'm to be honest yes I would love to do an album with boys and show jls and take that what we are really made of! (sic)"

Westlife have revealed that they plan to change their "formula" because of the quality of their current album.

The group admitted that they want to emulate Pink by releasing "four or five" tracks from their eleventh LP Gravity.

"Not only do we have lots of songs we feel are strong enough to be singles off our latest album Gravity, there's our arena tour in March," they told the Daily Star. "Musically, we feel stronger than ever but it’s all about how it’s marketed.

"The next 12 months are going to be very interesting and exciting in the Westlife camp."

They continued: "Over the last few years there’s just been one single based around Christmas and that’s a Syco thing to be honest. The Westlife formula has to change and we want to do things differently because we love this album. We don’t wanna release one song and then be like “see you later.

"Internationally, the ballads haven’t been working for us, so with the new single we’re hoping to get back in there."

The Irish group also confirmed that they are "nearly out" of their contract with Simon Cowell's record label, but declined to confirm their plans.

"Are we gonna stay for a million pound contract? That’s the million dollar question. We’ll have to see as it’s all about doing what’s right," they added.

Westlife have confirmed that they have left Simon Cowell's record label Syco.

The Irish group told fans that after 13 years signed to the music mogul, it was "time for a change". The Sun reports that the foursome have signed a new multi-million pound deal with Sony RCA.

"Yes Gravity is the last album for us to make with Simon Cowell & his label," Mark Feehily wrote on Twitter. "We love&respect him&thank him for his part in WL! (sic)"

"Time for a new chapter. We are still very young&have lots of energy left in us so here's 2 the future! New label, new lease of 'life'!"

His bandmate Nicky Byrne added: "Truth is yes we have moved on from Syco records after a fantastic 13years.. But it is time for a change and it's very exciting..!"

Westlife, who recently began their eleventh arena tour, have scored 14 UK number one singles.

Westlife singer Shane Filan has said that he would like to sing with ex-bandmate Brian McFadden again.
McFadden quit the Irish boyband in 2004, and Filan now says he would not "rule out" a return for the singer after witnessing the success of Take That since Robbie Williams rejoined the band.

Filan told the Daily Record newspaper: "I look up to bands like Take That who are the best out there and it was good to see them put the past behind them and move on by having Robbie back.

"I'd never rule out Brian coming back because there never was a bad patch with him. Brian was great with fans.

"I definitely think some day it would be great fun to sing with Brian again. It could be in 10 years time but I think it will happen."

Last year, Filan said that it would not be "remotely interesting" if McFadden returned to Westlife, after the Australia's Got Talent judge tweeted that he had dreamt about being onstage with the group.

McFadden wrote on his Twitter page: "I had a dream I was back on stage with Westlife playing some crazy-sized football stadium."

Filan responded: "I don't think it's even remotely interesting if Brian came back."

POP giants Westlife are to split after a staggering 14 years at the top of the charts.

IN a statement announcing the split tonight Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane said: "After 14 years, 26 top ten hits including 14 number one singles, 11 top five albums, seven of which hit the top spot and have collectively sold over 44million copies around the world, ten sell out tours and countless memories that we will forever cherish, we today announce our plan to go our separate ways after a greatest hits collection this Christmas and a farewell tour next year.

"The decision is entirely amicable and after spending all of our adult life together so far, we want to have a well-earned break and look at new ventures.

"We see the greatest hits collection and the farewell tour as the perfect way to celebrate our incredible career along with our fans. We are really looking forward to getting out on the tour and seeing our fans one last time.

"Over the years Westlife has become so much more to us than just a band. Westlife are a family. We would like to thank our fans who have been with us on this amazing journey and are part of our family too.

"We never imagined when we started out in 1998 that 14 years later we would still be recording, touring and having hits together. It has been a dream come true for all of us."

The Irish boyband, managed by Louis Walsh, announced yesterday that they will go their separate ways following a farewell tour next year.

They said in a statement: "The decision is entirely amicable. After spending all of our adult life together so far, we want to have a well-earned break and look at new ventures. We'd like to thank our fans who have been with us on this amazing journey."

The split will end a record-breaking career which has seen Nicky Byrne, 33, Kian Egan, 31, Mark Feehily, 31, and Shane Filan, 32, sell more than 44MILLION records.

Fourteen of their 26 top ten hits reached the No 1 spot — including Flying Without Wings and Unbreakable.

A source close to the band, whose members are worth an estimated £10million each, said: "This is it. There's no bad blood, they're still great pals.

"But all good things come to an end and they are all keen to do their own thing.

"It's not something they've done lightly. They could carry on making albums into their old age the way their career has gone — but it's quality time they're after and focus to do their own things."

Westlife will say farewell to fans on their Greatest Hits Tour, which kicks off in May. They will also release an album of their biggest songs.

The Irish band launched as a five-piece with Brian McFadden in July 1998 and signed to Simon Cowell's label. They were originally called Westside but changed after learning another band had used it first.

Shane now plans a solo career and is already understood to have written some songs. Mark also wants to stay in the music business and wants to write songs.

Nicky aims to be a radio DJ and Kian is planning to take on more TV opportunities. He is already lined up as a judge for the Irish version of new singing talent show The Voice.

The source added: "There is a huge amount of love for the Westlife boys, especially in their homeland of Ireland, so they won't be short of offers."

The lads' statement added: "We see the greatest hits collection and the farewell tour as the perfect way to celebrate our incredible career along with our fans.

"We never imagined when we started out that 14 years later we would still be recording, touring and having hits together. It has been a dream come true for all of us."

Singer Mark won admiration for publicly revealing he was gay at the peak of the group's fame in 2005.

He later said in an exclusive interview with The Sun that his life was a "million times better" for telling all and seeing how fans continued to stand by him and the band.

Last night manager Louis, who brought the boys together, called Westlife "the best people I've worked with".

He said: "They are one of the world's biggest boybands and they're leaving on top. I had a brilliant time working with them — fantastic."

Westlife will make their last TV appearance later this year, ITV has revealed.

The 'Flying without Wings' boyband, who announced their plans to split last week, have signed up for a one-off special for ITV1.

Westlife: For The Last Time will see Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan sing their greatest hits in front of a studio audience, as well as partake in behind-the-scenes interviews.

Commissioned by ITV's controller of entertainment John Kaye Cooper, the programme is likely to air on a Saturday or Sunday night after The X Factor, and could be shown after the final.

Since forming in 1998, the group have had 14 number one singles in the UK.

Westlife have insisted to The Sun that there will be no Take That-style comeback when they part ways next year.

Kian Egan told the paper, "We walked away from a multimillion-pound record deal that would have changed our lives forever, secured our future beyond anything, It's not about the money. We'd have made far more on a new record than we ever would with a comeback tour."

Shane Filan confirmed that the split had been brewing for a while, "We've been doing this for 14 years. It had been bubbling for a long time - there was an intuition that all wasn't happy in the camp. Getting on stage is still amazing but that was the only part of the job we were enjoying.

Mark Feehily added: "The last few years have been very stressful. We'd talk through things to the point of tears, being brutally honest with each other. We never had physical fights — we never even had a talking fight about the break-up."

Westlife have revealed that record label bosses offered them more money to stay together.

The boyband, who recently announced their split after 14 years, maintained that their decision to part ways is not a publicity stunt as they were offered a bigger deal to remain a group.

Member Nicky Byrne told the Daily Star: "It's not a publicity stunt. There was more money on the table from Sony Records as part of a re-negotiation but it feels right to see what else is out there."

The four-piece confessed that their long-time manager Louis Walsh tried to persuade them not to split up and vowed to smooth over any problems.

Mark Feehily added: "Louis said to us, 'Whatever is wrong we'll fix it,' but there's nothing to fix. It's a natural thing to happen. We couldn't go on releasing albums until we died."

The band insisted that their split is for good and that they will not be reuniting in the future like fellow pop acts Take That and Steps.

Shane Filan said: "The tour will be the end of Westlife. We're hoping to do one last extravagant show and it's going to be horrendous when we come off stage, the worst day."

Byrne continued: "Other bands who have breaks know they might come back. We're saying we're not."

The group claimed that new boybands The Wanted, JLS and One Direction will not last 14 years together as it is not "normal".

Kian Egan said: "I don't see any of them lasting as long as we have."

Feehily added: "Four or five years max for a boyband is normal. We lasted as we all get along. We're quite freakish like that."

Westlife's new single 'Lighthouse' will be available to download on November 13, while their Greatest Hits collection will follow on November 21.

Westlife member Mark Feehily has revealed plans to launch a solo career once the band has split up.

The group announced last month that they are to part ways after 14 years together, bowing out with a farewell tour in May 2012.

Feehily has said that he will use the split to be more creative with his solo music and is already considering several offers, such as writing a musical, the Sunday Mirror reports.

"I will definitely focus on making music. Singing is my gift and what I'm really good at. I want to make records for sure, and I want to direct music videos - something I've always wanted to do, but I've never had the chance.

"I'd also love to write a book and I've been approached to write a musical *- it's a modern version of Taboo by Boy George. It's my chance to be creative."

Shane Filan has also spoken of his desire to embark on a solo career, saying all the band members including Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne have considered it.

Egan recently admitted that Simon Cowell hasn't contacted the band since they announced their split.

Mark Feehily has announced that he is to marry his long-time partner Kevin McDaid next year.

The Westlife singer proposed to McDaid last year, having dated the former V star since his official coming out in 2005.

Feehily said that they had originally hoped to marry this year, but that they were too busy to do so. He explained that they instead plan to wed once Westlife complete their farewell tour next year.

"We plan to get married as soon as possible but it's about finding a gap to do it," he told The Mirror.

"It will definitely be next year. We want to do it as soon as we possibly can, but we want it to be right as well. It's finding the time and doing it right. We've no reason to rush it or say, 'Let's just f**king pick any church or hotel or venue in the country'."

He added: "We've been so committed to Westlife that while we've had big gaps when we're not working, you have to plan so far in advance for a wedding. So you really don't have time to plan. We've pretty much got the time to be getting on with the wedding now."

Westlife announced their official split after 14 years last month. They will bow out with their final 'Greatest Hits' tour in May 2012.

Feehily recently revealed plans to launch his own solo career once Westlife have finished.

WESTLIFE singer Mark Feehily has sensationally split from the partner he was due to marry next year.

The heartbroken star announced last night that he had parted from his fiance Kevin McDaid after seven years together.

However, the Sunday Mirror can reveal that the relationship has been on the rocks for some time and that Kevin dumped Mark TWO months ago.

The bombshell news comes just weeks after Mark had revealed that he and Kevin would marry next year now that Westlife were splitting up.

But instead singer Mark has been left to deal with another major shake-up in his life which will send shockwaves through the
pop world.

Last night, Mark announced on his Twitter page: “Sadly, Kevin & I are no longer together. We’ve had an amazing 7 year & are both so thankful for the love&support u have shown us from the start.

“We won’t be answering any questions about this as its a very private matter. Thanks in advance for understanding that. Lots of love, Mx.”

The news will shock fans of the singer, who appeared to be very much in love.

In an interview with our sister paper the Irish Daily Mirror in November, Mark spoke of his plans to marry his long-time boyfriend.

He said: “We plan to get married as soon as possible but it’s about finding a gap to do it.

“It will definitely be next year. We want to do it as soon as we possibly can, but we want it to be right as well. It’s finding the time and doing it right. We’ve no reason to rush it or say, ‘let’s just f**king pick any church or hotel or venue in the country’.

“We’ve been so committed to Westlife that while we’ve had big gaps when we’re not working, you have to plan so far in advance for a wedding. So you really don’t have time to plan. We’ve pretty much got the time to be getting on with the wedding now.”

But sources have revealed to the Sunday Mirror that the relationship was already in trouble.

A source said: “The reality is that Mark and Kevin have been going their separate ways for a while.

“In fact Kevin decided to break it off with Mark up to two months ago, but it is only now that they are making it official.

“This must be a very tough time for Mark. With the band also set to go their own way he now faces into a year of uncertainty, it cannot be easy for him.”

The couple announced that they were engaged in January 2010, with Feehily also confirming that news through his Twitter page.

Feehily met photographer McDaid, 27, at a charity concert in Dublin in 2005.

They went public with the relationship in 2007 when the Irish star came out in a newspaper interview in 2007.

Newcastle man McDaid was part of boyband V until 2005, before becoming a photographer.

Brian McFadden and former Fade St star Vogue Williams have announced they are set to tie the knot.
The couple met last April, after Brian split from Delta Goodrem, in Ireland and have been inseparable ever since, setting up home in Australia.
McFadden, 31, popped the question to DJ Williams, 26, while he was on tour with Stevie Nicks in November.
After posing for photos for the Australian edition of OK Magazine, McFadden told the publication: "It's early to be engaged when you think about how long we've been together, but not when you consider the amount of time we've spent together. we've literally spent every second of every day together for eight months now."
Admitting that he "never really planned to get married" to Goodrem, McFadden added: "Vogue and I are actually setting a date and we're actually getting married."
The star said that both their exes are happy about their engagement news, saying: "We've let them know out of respect. They both went, 'Great, as long as you're happy,' because they're both happy as well and have moved on.
"We don't have any nasty 'ex' animosity with our recent partners."
Vogue also confirmed the new last night via Twitter saying: "I'm engaged!!delighted!!"
