Bernice from Emmerdale joining Hollyoaks

Former Emmerdale star Samantha Giles in joining the cast of Hollyoaks.
The 36 year old actress - who played the Dale's Bernice Blackstock - is taking over the role of Danny and Lauren Valentine's wild mum, Valerie Holden - who rocks up in the village as the new year dawns.

"She's the sort of mother every child dreads" laughs our Chester insider "Val still thinks she's a teenager and dresses accordingly. It'll be fun to see what she gets up to - and who she gets involved with."

Samantha replaces Jacquline Leonard (aka EastEnders Lorraine Wicks) who starred as Val when she dumped the kids on thier dad, Leo, in September this year.

Hopefully she is coming back to take all the annoying and boring Valentine family back to Greece with her

I think she should be good in this, i like samantha giles. She was good in WTHI.

im sorry to anyone who likes her but my god did she annoy me in the omnibus sunday. she is a lousy actress in hollyoaks. wasnt to bad in emmerdale and wher the heart is but hollyoaks. and her accent is quiet grating too. im sure the actress who played her when she droped danny and lauren off wasnt exactly a 'tart' bring her back.
