Christmas mood

Last night I saw the first Christmas decorations that people have put up outside their homes and all of a sudden I started to feel a bit Christmassy. :angel: Anybody else getting into the mood yet or is it still too early? :hmm:

I put up decoration at work already and my town has all its lights up.. it looks beautiful.. my house decoration will go up on the 6th December

Too early. I just hate the commercialisation of it all. Xmas doesn't equal filling up the coffers at the local shopping centre.

Far too early - I can't think about getting in the festive spirit until my eldest and 3rd sons birthdays are out of the way (1st and 3rd Dec) and refuse to put my decs up until the weekend before Xmas Day.

Christmas is just a chore this year.

We are all grumpty and down in our house, what with MIL being so ill and stresses at work.

I am on holiday from 22/12 - 6/1 - hopefully i will have cheered up by then!

I haven't been out Christmas shopping - I ordered all the toys for my niece and nephews fron Toysrus on line and I hate Christmas decorations in November!

There is a house down the road from me that has had their Christmas decorations up since last week. I'm putting mines up on Saturday while we dance around to the christmas CD.:D I have bought Marley a few presents taking a couple of days of next week to go and get the rest.

I did my Christmas shopping through Boots and collected loads of points (now money) and also grabbed some free stuff because of the Buy 2 get 1 free offers! All done and spent less than intended and good offers! I even did some shopping for me while I was online :p.. Not all done yet as stock waiting to come in but a few more stuff for me (haha birthday money) and one more mate's present! Wonderful :) Definitely feeling in the Xmas spirit!..

I cant get into the Christmas spirit yet....normally once Ive put some decorations up/hearing Crimbo endlessly songs on the radio - thats when I start getting into the Christmas spirit. Though I wont be putting decorations up for a while yet....I cant believe some people have got them up already! :eek:

I just started getting Christmas cards from people I sent cards to,, its really making me feel good..plus I pulled out all my fav christmas movies,, and added LOVE ACTUALLY to the pile, since it is sorta centered around Christmas.. and there are some yummmy actors to oogle at hee hee:lol:

not really started prep yet, simply because i'm too busy and the fact that work havent paid me... i hate how fast it's gone, and that at the moment it's a really bad time, so i'm putting my efforts into that! i don't know when our decorations are going up, in a few weeks, but i'm guessing i won't be around :| maybe xmas will hit me when we break up from college on the 24th of december :| slightly too late imo...

I swear if i hear one more xmas song this year i will scream - yesterday i was ill in bed and just for easy listening and something i didnt really need to have my eyes open to watch i had music channels on and nearly every channel had something to do with xmas on and if i had magic on then turned it to VH1 they would be playing the same song magic were a few mins before.

I've done all my shopping, just bought some cds from play.com today. I need to get my niece something else like craft bits to go with the pjs I bought her. This Christmas has been really hassle free, I can't believe I've bought everybody's presents in two days without stressing.

Still got the cards to write, presents to wrap and the tree to put up. Fingers crossed my sister's bf will come tomorrow to do the coving then we can get tidied up and put the decorations up.

I've not heard many Christmas songs yet.

A friend of mine does his shopping on Christmas eve. I was talking to him the other day and he said whatever is left then will have to do, even for his girlfriend :lol:

My nephew is like that. Even for his new wife, he takes her shopping and ask her what she would like. Then he buys the gifts and gives them to her to wrap herself. And she still has to look surprised on Christmas morning when she unwraps the presents. :rotfl:

Yeah.. I have inside hotline to the best pressies on earth :lol::lol:.. It is really good that my dad does this cause Charley recognised him (ben didn't, he screamed) so I now tell her that her Granddad can tell the really real santa if she is naughty... She now behaves herself so much around my dad :rotfl::rotfl:

I know what you mean Abbie we have some houses near us were they have inflatable Santa's and Snowmen in the gardens and loads of lights outside their houses it's a wonder a plane hasn't landed in someone's garden. They look really tacky.

On a happier note I'm in the Christmas mood now. Went to a Christmas Concert held by the high school that Marley is due to go to, The school invites the primary feeder schools from P5,6 & 7 to take part. It was wonderful with a mixture of Christmas Carols and wonderful classical music from the school orchestra. They also had a grand finale of everyone singing a mixture of Simon and Garfunkle songs.
