Ex-Dynasty actress Kate O'Mara is to make a guest appearance in Doctors.
The 78-year-old – who played Cassandra 'Caress' Morell in the 1980s American soap opera – is to play the role of Rosetta Froom, an eerie and eccentric woman who lives in the cellar of her son's funeral parlour.
When Doctor Melody Bell (Elizabeth Bower) drops in for a home visit, she gets locked in the cellar with her, leaving her wondering whether she will get out alive.
Producer Erika Hossington said: "We are all so excited to have Kate filming with us. This is a really fantastic role for her – it's something completely different to anything Kate has done before.
"Kate clearly has a great sense of humour and so this particular episode, which is a black comedy more than anything else, is perfect for her."
Kate filmed her scenes at the Birmingham-based set yesterday and will appear on-screen in an episode entitled 'Fears Feats and the Frooms' on Wednesday, March 5 next year.
Kate follows in the footsteps of former Dynasty co-star Emma Samms who made an appearance in the BBC daytime medical drama back in 2005.
