Vera Duckworth's brightly-coloured stone cladding will go with her when she dies on Coronation Street next year, it has been revealed.
The long-running character, played by actress Liz Dawn, put up the colourful brickwork on the house in 1989, but Vera was completely oblivious to the fact that the rest of the street thought it looked ghastly.
When Duckworth is killed off next year, her lodgers at Number 9 - Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and Molly Compton (Vicky Binns) - decide to rip the stone cladding down and give the house a makeover to make it more modern.
A show insider revealed: "It was decided that when she goes, the cladding should go as well. There has already been one suggestion that it could be auctioned off for charity."

I will miss it, as it was the only house in the street that stood out from the others. :(
