we just had a meeting today about studying abroad somewhere next year and id like peoples advice. we can either go to europe (germany, denmark, netherlands, malta, greece, france though you have to be able to speak french, and possibly some other places) or america. some people in their 4th year now talked to us and going to america sounds really amazing. what im wanting to ask is, although the different unis sound great, im not really sure what itd be like to study abroad for a whole year and was wondering if anyone had ever studied abroad and what it was like and whether you enjoyed it or not. thanks :)

I've never studied abroad DM, I was never given the opportunity. If I was you I would grab the chance with both hands, you're only young once and you may not have another chance. Go for it girl. With today's modern technology you can still keep in touch with your family and friends.

*revives thread* :D

Can you arrange to go to a country not on the programme? I would love to study for a year in Australia or New Zealand but the university (Hertfordshire) is only offering North America and Europe (Belgium, Sweden, Spain, The Netherlands).

i think youd have to ask your uni about that as each uni would be different. however i would think it was unlikely as the unis tend to have exchange programmes so that if say 10 students went from your uni to spain then 10 spanish students would come and study here. theres no harm in asking them about it but i wouldnt get your hopes up :)
