Question: What's the deal with the new character Molly on Prison Break? Who will be playing that role? — Jo
Ausiello: Molly's arrival has been delayed a bit, and for once the strike is not to blame. Well, not entirely. Producers are apparently having a tough time finding the right actress for the part.

10/14 - The arrival of Michael's potential rebound gal has been pushed back. But she is coming, and I know this because executive producer Matt Olmstead gave me a preview of the character, who's name will be Molly. "She has a background that also involves loss - and a recent loss at that," he says. "So the cool thing is they're both emotionally banged up and they can empathize with each other. But they're not going to be jumping into bed together, because they both recently lost someone dear to them." Of course, Olmstead doesn't rule out such shenanigans down the road. "Yeah, but that's a long way down the road," he insists. "But, certainly, anything's possible." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
09/16 - We will meet Molly, a new series regular. Once a suburban housewife in Arizona, she searches for clues, and vengeance, after her husband and child are killed. Those clues lead her all the way to a Panamanian prison. Source: secretagentman @ TWoP

Prison Break fans, prepare to seriously lose your heads.

Sarah Wayne Callies — whose rather ugly contract dispute with producers led to her apparent decapitation last October — is returning next season. Full-time. As Dr. Sara Tancredi. Head and all. Seriously..............

I'll believe it when i see her in it, i was tod she was coming back in this seies but she never did, is it just a ploy to try and get us to keep watching, would be totaly fab if she did come back, and i'd start watching it, as i'd stopped when they killed her off in the last series.

I think they had to bring her back ratings dropped and fans objected to her demise. Plenty of Michael/Sara Shippers out there.

A few weeks ago, TV Guide broke the story that Prison Break would be adding at least two new characters to season 4. The first is Penrab, a deadly assassin for The Company who’s been waiting be called in to take somebody out. Then there's Don, an FBI handler who will become useful to Michael. He has strategies and tactics for bringing The Company down from the inside out. Today, Fox announced that Michael Rapaport will be joining the cast of Prison Break as "a government agent who has an interesting offer for Michael and Lincoln". Could this be our Don?

Rapaport has had a recurring role on NBC's My Name Is Earl as a criminal named Frank. He had a sitcom of his own, The War At Home, which lasted two seasons on Fox. He has a long standing relationship with the network, appearing on Boston Public from 2001-2004. He had a memorable stint on Friends as Gary, the policeman, who dated Phoebe. His film credits include Higher Learning, Hitch, and the upcoming Only In New York, which also stars James Caviezel.

There are rumors swirling that the fourth season of Prison Break could be its last. The show has experienced a steady decline in viewership over the years but Fox had stood behind the drama. Wentworth Miller, the show's star, has hinted that he would love to move on at the end of next season. He recently told Britain's Glamour magazine, "I really feel there's a beginning, middle and an end to this story and my gut feeling is that we're on the last leg of the journey." Despite the drop in ratings, the show has maintained a solid and loyal fan base. Many of them would like to see the show go out on top so perhaps it's time that Michael settles things with The Company once and for all.

Things aren't looking good for Bailey's marriage on Grey's. Cress Williams, who plays the chief resident's increasingly fed-up hubby (and prior to that enjoyed gigs on a variety of series including Close to Home and ER), has landed a role on Fox's Prison Break.

Williams will play Wyatt, the latest assassin employed by The Company to brings brothers Michael and Lincoln's seemingly endless run to an... end. Prison Break returns for Season 4 on Monday, Aug. 25, with a two-hour episode.

Episode 4.01: Scylla
Airdate: September 1, 2008 at 8 p.m.

08/30 - Prison Break returns with two episodes dedicated to regrouping, consolidating and tying up loose ends. It isn't necessarily pretty. Within the first 45 minutes, at least three regular or recurring characters are seemingly killed off and two former regular characters are just abandoned entirely. And, as has been so endlessly reported that it won't surprise a soul, Sara returns from the dead with a reintroduction so matter-of-fact that it doesn't have any emotional impact. With the help of Michael Rapaport's newly introduced government agent, most of the show's main characters are brought back together as a sort of Injustice League and given a MacGuffin of a goal to help bring down The Company. [...] The new Los Angeles locations keep things simple and the premiere episodes bring up a lot of things -- Michael's stripper wife, EuropeanGoldFinch.net, the tattoos -- that will probably make fans happy. Plus, T-Bag does some very bad things. Source: Zap2it
08/24 - Michael uncovers unbelievable news in Los Angeles when he seeks revenge against Whistler and Gretchen for Sara's death. Michael and Lincoln are reunited with the gang and receive an offer from a Homeland Security Agent they cannot refuse. Mahone suffers a devastating loss, and T-Bag is deserted during his flight to freedom. Guest Cast: Marshall Allman as LJ Burrows; Cress Williams as Wyatt; Callie Thorne as Pam Mahone; Wilbur Fitzgerald as Bruce Bennett; Leon Russom as Pad Man; Crystal Mantecon as Sister Mary Francis; Rachel Leora as Theresa; Steve Tom as Tuxhorn; John Rosenfield as Jason Lief. Source: FOX
08/24 - A Fox rep for Prison Break confirmed to me that one (or two!) of the show's main characters will die in the season premiere, which airs Sept. 1 at 8 p.m.-at least one actor is leaving the series for good. [...] Executive producer Zack Estrin gave us this exclusive look at two new characters who will be filling the shoes of the departed: "We have a new character, known simply as Wyatt, who is the Company guy who is trying to track them this year. He is the guy with the gun who is hot on our guys' trail. Because when the season begins, there is a cover story that our guys are placed into a Supermax prison, and slowly but surely clues are coming out that they aren't in there-that they're up to something else maybe. This guy's job is to find out what they're really up to. "Another new character is a hacker named Roland. Our team has learned to have some level of trust among each other, or at least they know everyone else's agenda, but this is a new guy they're forced to work with, and they're not sure how they feel about him, but they need his expertise in the technological stuff that our guys don't necessarily have." Source: Kristin on E!Online
07/28 - I caught part of the Prison Break panel at Comic-Con, and they showed the first five minutes or so of the season premiere, in which Gretchen tells Michael that Sara is alive. So it all does go down very fast, and it looks like the lovely Dr. Tancredi will be reunited with the lovely Michael "Hot Pants" Scofield in no time flat. Source: Kristin on E!Online
07/20 - Season 4 picks up a month or so after the Season 3 finale. [...] Sarah Wayne Callies revealed that by the first episode's end, the long- and oft-separated lovebirds will set eyes on each other. [...] William Fichtner revealed on the red carpet that we'll be seeing Mahone's estranged wife - and soon, as in the new season's first episode. Source: TV Guide Online
07/20 - The first scene of the episode: Michael Scofield...Hotel room...Los Angeles.....and he is alone. Source: SpoilerTV
07/12 - [How Michael gets his tattoo removed will be explained in the season premiere.] There are events that happen in the first episode that will bring the brothers back together. James Hiroyuki Liao will appear as Roland Glenn in season 4. It looks like Sasha Alexander will be in episode 4.01 as Shannon Andersen. You will find out why Bruce is there in the first episode. Source: SpoilerTV
06/18 - Mahone has his reasons for working with The Company, which you will find out in the first episode. Source: SpoilerTV
06/16 - Episode one takes place over several days, maybe about a week. It is not all flashbacks but there are a few flashbacks to seasons 1 and 2 with Michael and Sara. Source: SpoilerTV
05/21 - They're introducing a new nerdy hacker character named Roland Glenn to join the boys for at least six episodes to help them fight the Company. He's a talker, this one, and his big fat mouth is going to get him into trouble. Also, Sara's back! Source: Kristin on E!Online
04/23 - Two new players in the war between Scofield and the Company will be introduced in the season premiere. On one side we have Don, an FBI handler who offers Michael a way to bring down the Company once and for all. And on the other side we have Penrab, the Company's top assassin who's waiting on the sidelines for his chance to attack. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide

Former Prison Break star Paul Adelstein believes that his character Paul Kellerman may still return to the show despite his apparent demise.

Kellerman was believed to have been killed at the end of the second season when the police van he was travelling in was hijacked by unknown masked men and shots were fired.

However, the death was not shown on screen and Adelstein told TV Guide that he thinks the character was spared: "I am definitely of that mind, [and] there have been no indications that he is not dead."

"It was a fun piece of writing, because it could play either way. I'm either being rescued... or I'm being deep-sixed," the actor added.

If Kellerman was to return, it would not be the first example of a character on Prison Break returning from an apparent death. Dr Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) recently returned to the show despite the character's supposed beheading during the third season.

Any scoop on upcoming episodes of Prison Break? — Chaya
Matt: As you may know, we're in the midst of a run of eight straight episodes that climaxes with the midseason finale, airing Dec. 22. (That's when Kathleen Quinlan shows up as... um, someone of interest.) Along the way, watch for Michael to be blindsided by a most unexpected betrayal — and literally at the worst possible moment.

Here's a bit of casting news that will warm the hearts of even the most jaded of my fellow old-school Prison Break fans.

Charles Westmoreland "lives."

Yes, he who would have you believe him to be the long-lost D.B. Cooper — and who last was seen left to die mid-escape from Fox River at the end of Season 1 — will make an appearance in the Dec. 15 episode, again portrayed by Muse Watson. How does Westmoreland come back into play? Like virtually everything else, he turns up as Michael continues his quest to unravel the Scylla mystery.

But wait, there is more. For the annual midseason finale (airing Dec. 22), the stakes will be upped a bit more when Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Kathleen Quinlan (Apollo 13) joins Prison Break. She'll fill the recurring in the role of a high-ranking player within the Company, someone to whom even the General might answer to.

After presenting its midseason finale, Prison Break will return in 2009 to finish up its fourth cycle.

Fox's Prison Break airs Monday at 9 pm/ET.

TV drama Prison Break has been axed after four years.

The current season of the show will be its last. The final four episodes will air on in the U.S. in April.

Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly tells the Hollywood Reporter, "The show is just played out. Creatively, everybody feels enough stories have been told.

"We want to finish strong and not just gimp out next season. They have a cool ending."

Prison Break first premiered on America's Fox network in 2005.

Prison Break continues this Friday, but only for a few weeks longer. Yes, after four seasons, it's time for Michael and Linc to finally catch their breath... or perhaps take a final one.

What's coming up as the action resumes with a two-hour return (8 pm/ET, Fox)? For one thing, there's the matter of the brothers' big and seemingly bad mama (played by Kathleen Quinlan).

"She plays a big part in the last few episodes," series cocreator Matt Olmstead shares. "A lot of secrets are revealed, and Michael and Lincoln are certainly shook in terms of who they are, where they came from. At a certain point, they're wondering if this is the truth or are they being divided and conquered, so to speak."

The maternal meddling is followed by a mother of a twist. "We have a big surprise reveal," says Olmstead, barely able to contain his excitement. "I won't tell you who it is, but a returning character comes in late in the game, when the wheels are coming off, and he or she is either there to save the day or to hijack the whole thing for his or her own benefit."

That unexpected return, says Olmstead, "pays off very nicely."

Of course, Prison Break being Prison Break, a few bodies will drop before Episode 22 fades to black. And one of them is of such significance, the show's bosses had to fight Fox to take the life in question.

"There was kind of a polarized viewpoint over at Fox, in terms of killing or preserving a character," Olmstead tells TVGuide.com. "Once we made our pitch and turned in the script, they saw the merit in it. So they were completely on board."

While Prison Break's final salvo wraps up with a "completely satisfying," double-episode finale airing May 8, the studio also produced a stand-alone, two-hour event that, should Fox not opt to air it, will at the very least appear on DVD. Since the series finale ends with a four-year flash-forward coda, Olmstead says the stand-alone story "plays really well ... because it's kind of a jump back in time and answers some questions."
