My dad is wanting a digital camera for Xmas (off me mum - nothing too flash), so we were checking some out, and I just want to ask about one thing..
The 2 that he likes the best, have internal memory one of 10mb and one of 20mb, with no need for a memory card... as I only know memory cards (128mb etc..) I was wandering what kinda size these are? Are they as small as they sound :S
well my camera has a memory card of 512mb and can hold around 400- 500 photos and that a 5.2 megapixel camera

It's best to get a camera where you can put a memory card in, then you can get a bigger memory card if you want when the technology gets better.
1GB and 2GB cards nowadays are a reasonable price if you search around. Amazon is quite good.
If you just want internal memory, then 512MB or 1GB is quite reasonable :)

Lol Im just saying in realtion to size of memory and storage well then yeah that is a small memory, plus you need to look at megapixels as the higer the megapixcel the less photos you can hold For exaple If I change my megapixels to 4m then I can hold 600 pics compared to before

Yeah I know.. I was just confused, cos on the spec it said
Memory card - N/A
Memory card included - (insert big red x here).
And it's like £80.. so I assume there would be a memory card slot?? But it doesn't mention it.
We have a 256Mb with only 3.2 mega pixels lmao :p So this one is 8.2 mega pixels.. so just want to make sure about the memory card slot first.

Its okay now.. we re read the specs, and one of them said that it was compatible with a card, the other didn't, that's where we got confused.
Thanks Abs and Katie.
Thread can be closed now pwease :)
Like Abbie said, it depends on the resolution of your images. The higher the resolution the less images you will be able to store on your camera internally.
Really though, I don't know anybody that relies on internal memory for their phone or camera if they can help it.
Memory cards are really cheap now depending on the type that your camera needs. I know some of them are still quite expensive like Memory Stick Pro Duo (I think). Check out Amazon and Play, they're usually best for cheap cards.
