View Full Version : Do you vote on reality TV shows?
Does anyone on here vote on Reality TV shows?
I dont. I never have, and very probably wont either. Of course i have my favourites, and i want certain people to win and what not. But not so desperatly that i'll spend my money on it. Some of these text lines are really over the top priced as well- £1 + Standard message costs, sometimes. Its a bit OTT for a TV show, i think. I dont care about the results that much.
What does everyone else think? To vote or not to vote...
I only ever vote once and it was for an Irish program... it was the last show and I really wanted this guy to win!!!!
but I don't know anyone who votes and I haven't since that one time
Well I only vote until the final, sometimes the smeli final

Only Strictly come dancing, semi-final & final. Since some of it goes to CIN it's alright! x

I don't unless i really want someone to stay in so much, so this year with Strictly Come Dancing if Letitia gets in the bottom two i will vote to keep her in but generally no i don't
I have only ever voted once, which was in a series of I'm A Celebrity that I was actually interested in and it was the final.

I've only voted in two shows. Once in Big Brother 4 when Jon Tickles was in the house. The man was a legend and the other one was for Journey South when they reached the X factor final. My niece wanted to vote for Shane Ward but she had run out of credit and she kept asking to vote from my phone, but I refused :rotfl: (Cruel or what)

I rarely vote, but in the past I have done on the odd occassion. I think I've voted a few times in the Big Brother finals, and I've only voted for Leona to win the X Factor last year - i think that's it. I'm not too big on voting. I do enjoy reality shows, but not enough to vote frequently - i have my personal favourites but most of the time, i can't be asked to pick up the phone and vote for them.

never have cos it costs a fortune to SMS the UK,, I would love to vote some time..too bad they do not do online voting ( YES I know there is no money there for the charities )
I only voted for Lee in Any Dream Will Do this year. Half of the money was going to charity so at least the broadcasters don't take it for themselves unlike some channels.
Nope, never have. Probably never will either - I think its far too expensive for one and whilst I might have a favourite in say SCD, I already donate money each month to NSPCC and Meningitis Research and I'm not THAT desperate for a particular celeb or person to stay in a competition. To be honest, I don't watch that many reality shows anyway, but I wouldn't vote in the ones I do.
Has anobody ever heard how many people voted for a particular person/group etc.? Sounds like a lot of people on this forum say it is too expensive, so they don't bother or only very rarely. As there are so many Reality Shows around and people get voted off, it would be interesting to hear the host of a show state how many people took part in the vote and perhaps even how many voted for that particular person/group. :hmm:
Three million people voted in the X Factor final last year. I only know that because I Kate Thornton announced it after the votes had been counted.
But no, apart from that I've never heard how many votes an act or person has recieved and I don't know how to find out. Would be interesting though :hmm:
sad to say, there is people (obviously with more money than sense) vote for their fav more than once

I guess after reading alot of your posts I realized that some of the reality shows are just for votes ..........I would never vote for something that was just for a vote,,I would rather vote for something where my money was also used for charity CIN ,, X factor and Big Brother do not donate any of the phone votes money to charity do they ???
As Siobhan said some people have more money than SENSE.:wall: Voting for a FAVORITE twice is more money down the toilet..:searchme:

Err... none because ITV take the lot for themselves. :thumbsdow
I never vote for programs on ITV because they don't give anything to other causes. Plus they charge more than the BBC for phone and text. I don't know if X Factor still do text voting but when they did it was 50p plus one standard msg rate.
We're voting every week at the moment for Gethin and Camilla in SCD. I have a 7 year old Camilla obsessive!
