BOYZONE REFORMING

And...breathe girls, yes, it's true! Boyzone are following suit and getting back together after the latest rush of bands reforming.

They split seven years ago amidst a lot of bad feeling but Ronan said, 'The bad feeling is gone and we're very excited. We have been talking about it for a while and decided to go out there on our own and have a go at it.'

Boyzone will perform at this month's Children in Need show and will sing a medley of their old hits. Ronan also said they might tour but haven't got any plans to release a new aulbm just yet. Boyzone are doing this independant of a record company, for the love of the fans ya know.

Bit more:

Ronan Keating has confirmed that his '90s pop group Boyzone has reunited.

Keating will join with Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham, Stephen Gately and Keith Duffy to perform a medley of hits on Children In Need later this month.

The singer told The Sun: "After all the speculation, we are getting back together and we are very excited.

"We have been talking about it for a while now and decided to go out there on our own and have a go at it."

Talking about his future plans, he added: “At this stage all we have planned is to perform at Children In Need, and we are thinking about doing a tour. We haven’t got any plans to release a new album but we will see what happens."

“And we haven’t signed a record deal with anyone. We are just doing this thing on our own.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being back together with the lads, and even though there was some bad feeling about what has happened in the past, all that’s gone now.”

Boyzone had six number one hits between 1993 and 2000 and sold over 15 million albums.

I dont care if loads are getting back together. I used to love Boyzone. At least they can actually sing!

Put Steven Gately on lead for a while- Ronan Keating is nice to look at, but very overrated ;)

Mika has blocked Boyzone from recording his song 'I Gave It All Away'.

The singer had originally planned to allow other acts to record the tune but decided the Irish boyband's version was "too cheesy" to be released.

Ronan Keating revealed earlier this week that Boyzone will reform to play a medley of hits on Children In Need, and Mika's composition was going to be the band's comeback single.

An industry source told The Sun: "Mika wrote the song and made it available for other artists.

"Boyzone loved it. They thought it was perfect to launch their comeback so they recorded it and it sounded great - a certain number one."

A friend of Mika commented: "He is keen to start writing for other pop artists as well as himself. But Boyzone isn’t really what he had in mind.

"He was hoping to work with some more interesting artists - Boyzone are a bit too cheesy."

A representative for the pop group said: "It’s a real shame because it’s an incredible song and we all loved it."

The Irish boyband confirmed last week that they would be reforming to perform a medley of hits on Children In Need this Friday.

Now the pop group have announced a ten-date arena tour, which kicks off with a show at London's 02 Arena on May 30.

BOYZ ARE BACK
Boyzone have announced that they will be going on a British tour next year. The Irish boyband, which split seven years ago, has reformed for BBC 1’s Children In Need, and Ronan Keating said, “The Children In Need rehearsals just made us want to tour again. I can’t wait to get back on the road and all the guys feel the same. Our live shows were always great fun but this time it will be the best night out ever.” The first date of their ten-show tour will be on 30 May 2008 at London’s O2 Arena. SOURCE: METRO(15/11/2007)

Hey don't dare say anything bad about westlife. They're a grand bunch of lads. I'm glad to see Boyzone back granted they may not be as good as Take That but it's best that they stick to ballads as there dancing is shocking. and who can resist Ronan's cute little face.

Doesn't it prove that there is a lack of new bands coming through if old bands are seeing the opportunity to cash in and coming back

They only come back to make money and never come back just for the fans. As soon as they have made enough money to retire on they will go off again. Westlife are like that now. They've made there money so they don't make as many records anymore

I think the music world is slowly dying

I agree with everything you said there.
The pop world has died in the last few years. Most of the British bands/artists that are around in the pop world now are from reality shows (excluding those that have re-formed). I'm more of an indie/rock fan myself so I'm not too bothered about it. Indie seems to be the music of the moment with Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers, Kooks, The Enemy etc.

All the 90s bands have just jumped on the "let's get back together and see how much money we can make" bandwagon. The only successful comeback so far has been Take That. All Saints made a big nosedive earlier this year. Spice Girls are doing badly in the charts.

Yep totally agree

All Saints will no doubt eventually get back together in the future as will many others no doubt

I like you am not into all this pop sensation music, Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, My Chemical Romance all bands like that are my taste and also love dance music for the simple reason not many get released into the charts so they are not fighting for chart positions

If a certain song in the pop industry doesn't get in the top 40 bands tend to give up

Oh Abi liar! liar! pants on Fire! You camped out all night to get you're mitts on Spice Girls tickets admit it

On a serious note the reason many bands are not bothering to release many singles or new bands coming through is that the amount of singles sold doesn't mean a thing now. The charts are a joke many years ago a singer or group had to sell around 500,000 copies of their single to get into the top ten now they're lucky if they need 20,000 and the amount of times a song is downloaded counts on what chart position the song acheives. So its no wonder that new talented artist that can actually sing and play an instrument or even write a few songs get hacked off that they are working their butts of to gain fame and then some market branded artist who can't even sing for toffee go straight to number one.

Wizardardo

The times are changing unfortunately. Nowadays even downloads means nothing because there is so many places you can get the songs for free

Well, i saw them last night if anyone is interested!

Bless them, they were so cute And Mickey actually sung! He opened "Words", whilst playing the piano. Everyone was well shocked, lol! But you could tell they were such good mates still, even after everything that happened with them. And their kids were all there, which was sweet.

And they managed to fill the O2 arena, which is no mean feat. Goes to show that they aren't all bad, seeing as the O2 is absolutly massive compared to other stadiums.

And they still can't dance... :p

I saw them as well at the O2 last night, thought they were brill. All beefed up and looking macho - Stephen really looked good. You are right they looked as if they were really having fun, loved the "Different Beat" song with the flags etc.. and the encore when they came over the audience - great, brought back lots of memories
