Right so on Thursday night my mum is sat downstairs watching a film, all of a sudden she hears an almighty bang, stands up and see's a man stood in our kitchen. She goes in and grappels with him to get him out. My dad goes after him and literally drags him back round to our house to see if it was him or not (asking my mum if it was) anyhow, it was - police come and take him. Next day we get a phonecall from them, "oh he was really drunk and didn't know what he was doing or where he was" So in other words he got a slapped wrist and that was it, because he was drunk it was ok for him to break into our house.

THEN tonight, we are sat watching the X Factor results show, hears a bang - So I go into the kitchen and see a man nicking our fence, goes rushing into my mum and dad to tell them, my mum ran out and shouted "oi you" this lad runs away so we ring the police. They took 4 or 5 of our fence panels, the old lady next door, they took all of hers and even her gate to burn on there bonfire. The thiefs live 3 doors up. We never heard any banging because of all the fireworks. Anyhow my dad goes up and see's all the fencing there and he said please please do not throw them on there, anyway they did and started laughing in his face and told him to ******* off!
Police come, goes to the house and because they'd already burnt them there was no evidence, they asked them and of course they denied it. So because they did the police couldnt do anything about it. They could cleary see the lady next door had no fence whatsoever and some of ours was missing, what do they think we have done? Destroyed it ourselves.

Anyway the old ladys family came and went upto the house when the police had gone and they admitted, yeah we got the kids to go find us some wood  then they were just all laughing & swearing telling them to go away.
The ladys family aren't going to let it drop, on the gate they took is a lock with a proper key (which wont burn, obviously) so she rang the police back up and said "look, tomorrow you need to come out and search in the heap for this lock, if my key fits theres your proof its our fence"

I wouldnt mind but this family walked past at the time and said they saw them taking it into there garden but then they pissed off, they could have been witnesses.

And the guy that lives in this house said "I don't burn fences, I burn houses" Surely thats a threat in its self.

The ordasity of some people.

What is this world coming to, and why the flipping heck the police cant do anything is beyond us all! Absoutly shocking!!!
The vandals get away with doing whatever they like and us innocent folk are left scared because of them!

ALL WRONG, ALL BLOODY WRONG!

OMG, how awful, but at least you are all still ok, a lot of people that challenge thieves get hurt or even killed. The police don't seem to be able to do too much these days because the government has given yobs, thieves, murderers and rapists human (?) rights     which seems to be more important than your right to live in your home without being burgled or attacked. :thumbsdow

The police can't arrest somebody because you have no fence and somebody down the street is having a fire. Its just circumstantial evidence in the eyes of the law.

The only thing you can do is keep a log of these happenings and maybe set up a video camera around your back way so that you have some evidence if they come back again.

Alan might have something more to say on this when he comes on.
