Maria buys Liam a puppy
Airs on Sunday, October 28 2007 at 19:30 GMT on ITV1

Gail has organised a pre - wedding celebratory meal for both families, and despite Eileen's initial reluctance she's surprised to find herself having a great time! David has obviously been missed off the invitation list and feels lonely as he listens to the festivities inside the Platts. Shooting cans in the Morton's garden, he tells an uninterested Darryl that Gail tried to abort him and he doesn't think she'll be happy until he's dead…

Meanwhile, Sean's gutted that Marcus hasn't contacted him since he tricked him into revealing the sex of the baby. Later, when he comes back to the pub after some retail therapy, Jamie discovers that he's bought a load of blue baby clothes! Sean confesses to Jamie that he knows the sex and Jamie promises not to tell Violet, but its clear that Sean's excited at the prospect of having a son and obviously sees himself as the father. How will Violet react when she discovers that he's gone behind her back?

Maria's touched that Liam has bought her such a lovely gift and feeling the need to reciprocate, surprises him with a puppy! Liam is bemused by the gift and stammers his thanks, but will he keep the pooch?

Elsewhere, Fiz is getting increasingly annoyed that she and John never seem to be able to spend any time together alone and when the Websters accost them in the pub she's exasperated! However, when Rosie starts to flirt with John he feels so uncomfortable that he quickly makes his excuses and leaves. Fiz is delighted, but John's unnerved, will he call things off with Rosie before he gets in too deep?


David leaves a suicide note

It's the day before the wedding and as everyone leaves for the rehearsal, David’s feeling increasingly isolated, but is confident that when Martin arrives he'll sort everything out and see to it that David goes to the wedding.

However, when everyone arrives back on the street in high spirits, Gail breaks the news to a distraught David that his dad won't be attending and despite him practically begging, she fights her urge to sympathise and tells him its best if he stays away. David's deeply hurt at his exclusion and after letting himself into the house, he sits down and starts writing a letter. Later, Sarah and Maria arrive back and are horrified to discover that David has left a suicide note. How will Sarah react? Will David go through with it?

Meanwhile, as everyone discusses the sex of Violet's baby in the pub, Jamie’s finding it increasingly awkward having to lie to Violet and berates Sean for putting him in such a difficult position. Will they be able to keep the secret for the next six months?

Liam is trying to pretend to Maria that he's delighted about his new puppy but after they're not allowed into Roy's Rolls or the kebab shop and Molly arrives at the factory to complain about the dog’s howling, how long can Liam keep up the facade?

Elsewhere, Paul offers Leanne £10,000 towards the restaurant. And Michelle's losing her patience with Steve who is avoiding asking Liz and Vernon to move out!


Sarah rips up David's suicide note
Airs on Monday, October 29 2007 at 20:30 GMT on ITV1

Sarah and Maria are in shock as they read David’s suicide note, but while Maria worries, Sarah convinces herself that it’s a wind up and he's just desperate to destroy the wedding. She refrains from telling Gail about the note.

However, Maria's still unsettled and implores Sarah to tell someone but Sarah won't listen. Later, as the women head home from the pub after a great evening, they notice that David’s car is missing. Gail and Audrey are uneasy but they agree to wait until the morning before doing anything. Sarah is determined not to let her brother spoil her big day and enraged she tears the note up. Will Sarah end up regretting her actions?

Despite the mayhem he’s causing, Liam seems to be warming to his puppy who he has named Ozzy and reassures a worried Maria that he wants to keep him!


It's Sarah and Jason's big day
Airs on Wednesday, October 31 2007 at 19:30 GMT on ITV1

One-hour special
It’s the morning of the big day and Sarah has put David's note out of her mind and is determined to enjoy her fairy tale wedding. However, when Gail discovers that David didn't come home last night, she can’t ignore her concern any longer and calls the police.

Meanwhile, on the roof of Underworld, David watches on waiting for the fireworks as the police arrive. Sarah is furious that David’s managing to spoil her day when he’s not even there, but Gail puts on a brave face for her daughter, although it’s clear she’s seriously worried.

When David sees his family leave for the church seemingly unconcerned about his disappearance, he's hurt and shocked and after leaving a ‘final’ ranting message on Gail’s answer phone he gathers all his courage and drives his car into the canal!

In the Church, as Sarah and Jason are about to take their vows, the police arrive to inform Gail about the accident. The congregation immediately start gossiping about the police presence and Gail is forced to interrupt the ceremony to tell the bride and groom what's happened. Will David manage to ruin the long awaited wedding day? And will it cost him his life?

Elsewhere, Leanne doesn't resist when Paul kisses her. Will Leanne and Paul become more than business partners?


Steve throws Liz with a 50th party
Airs on Friday, November 2 2007 at 19:30 GMT on ITV1

As the rest of the residents of Coronation Street gossip about yesterday's wedding day debacle, the Platts try to come to terms with the dramatic events.

In the pub, Steve has been forced to throw a last minute surprise party for Liz. The birthday bash is a bit of a disappointment, with a thin turn out and Liz's discovery that her son organised it and not her ‘devoted’ boyfriend. However, the day gets a whole lot better for everyone when Vernon presents her with a trip to Paris! Liz is overjoyed and so are Michelle and Steve, who finally get the house to themselves!

Meanwhile, Rosie continues to flirt with John while Kevin is getting increasingly frustrated by Sally’s fascination with him. How will he feel if he discovers he's worrying about the wrong Webster girl?

Elsewhere, Leanne is flattered when Paul reveals that he made a pass on her because he's genuinely attracted to her and not because she’s an easy ex-hooker!




Elsewhere, Liz is under the illusion that Vernon is planning a surprise party for her 50th birthday! Will she be disappointed? And Leanne pays Roger with the money from Paul.
