Week 45

Kyla is drunk when she arrives on duty. She administers the wrong medicine to one patient and unhooks the machine of another, who later dies. Faye covers for her, but eventually Kyla is forced to admit her mistake. Ric smells alcohol on her breath and Kyla is sent off the ward. She then threatens to reveal Ric's documents of his night-op plan if he reports her.

Meanwhile, Connie is going on sabbatical and locum cardiothoracic Stuart McElroy arrives to stand in her place. Connie tells Sam and Joseph that one of them will have to act-up in her place and they spend the rest of the day competing with each other. Stuart tests them by refusing to operate on a smoker, to which Sam agrees. Joseph disagrees, operates, and is chosen for the senior role.

Later, Mark confesses to Elliot about his recreational cocaine use.

This is just getting ridiculous. Why would Faye cover for her when she killed a patient? Surely one of the other nurses would notice that she was drunk. This storyline is just taking the mick.

It is a bit. And she is totally doing my head in. Now she has something on Ric, so it will be harder to get rid of her!!!! Grr.

I can not stand Kyla she is the biggest mistake Holby made,,she was ok in the very very begining then she turned me off probably around the 2nd or 3rd episode she was on the show...She is a waste of space..
Whoa I wonder why Mark felt the need to confess to eliot about his recreational coke use ?? Does he know that his son is a USER?? Surely as a doctor he should be able to see the signs ???:searchme:

I know the writers of Holby are trying to show the dangers of drinking, fair play to them, but this storyline with Kyla...I agree with all of you..!

Maybe this storyline would've been better with someone like Donna? :searchme:

I think Donna could carry it off but I don't think she's the sort of character that would go down that road.

Maybe the producers should just not have bothered at all.
