Two 'Hollyoaks' departures revealed
Jennifer Biddall as Jess Harris
Hollyoaks is to lose two of its current cast at the end of this year.

Jennifer Biddall – who plays Jessica Harris in the Channel 4 soap – will bow out of the show in a dramatic twist in the New Year after her character embarks on an unlikely partnership with Darren Osborne (Ashley-Taylor Dawson).

Meanwhile, Sarah Jane Buckley is also leaving her Hollyoaks' counterpart behind when Kathy Barnes prepares to leave the village in an aptly bonkers storyline.

Jenny Biddall is in the pipeline to be leaving at the end of the year.

"She steps rather too readily into Zoe's shoes when Darren starts on his winning streak and they form a Bonnie and Clyde partnership which is very funny but she leaves in a dramatic twist in the New Year episode."

He continued: "Sarah-Jane Buckley will also be leaving the show in the coming months. There's a lot happening in with the Barmy Barnes and it's really exciting to give them ever-increasing bonkers storylines. So Kathy will be leaving in a bit of a bonkers story at the beginning of next year, too."

"Kathy's departure knocks mike for six but it's not long before he strikes up a relationship with one of the younger birds in the village."

Hollyoaks is bringing back Kathy Barnes for Amy's funeral as Sarah Jane Buckley reprises the role
Hollyoaks is bringing back Kathy Barnes after nine years when she returns for her daughter Amy's funeral next month.
Show bosses have already announced that Amy is being killed off in an explosive storyline and the dramatic scenes will air after she ties the knot with her partner Ryan Knight this week.
The exact details surrounding Amy's death will remain under wraps until transmission – although it's looking like her ex-boyfriend Ste will become the prime suspect for her murder.
Whatever happens, Amy's demise is set to have a huge impact on many of the village residents – and the aftermath will see her mum Kathy return to bid farewell to her youngest child.
Sarah Jane Buckley is reprising her role as Kathy for Amy's funeral, which is due to air next month. Kathy hasn't been seen since 2008 when she left the village after splitting with her ex-husband Mike – who is also making another return for the storyline.
Fans will have to tune in to see what happens when Mike and Kathy come face to face after all these years but the scenes are bound to be explosive.
Amy's death is the second tragedy to rock the Barnes family as they lost their eldest daughter Sarah in a parachuting incident back in 2010.
Sarah's grisly exit played out as part of a huge plot on the soap's E4 spinoff Hollyoaks Later and was only ever referenced in the main show.
Hollyoaks will air Amy's death later this week, with multiple endings filmed to keep the outcome under wraps.
