Hollyoaks is to turn up the heat this autumn when new girl Summer Shaw arrives in the village next month.
Summer – played by 24-year-old Summer Strallen – immediately turns heads with her bold, brash behaviour and O.B. (Darren Jeffries) is the first bloke to fall for her charms. The pair embark on an unlikely friendship, with O.B. hoping that it will flourish into something more.
Her pursuit of West-End fame and fortune, however, rubs resident drama queen Steph Dean (Carley Stenson) up the wrong way as Summer's irrepressible charisma prompts a bitter rivalry between the pair.
A Hollyoaks source told DS: "Steph takes it personally as she's been the only actress in the village for some time - especially with a drama degree!
"But with a romance between Steph and Max blossoming in the background, how will Steph react when she realises that Summer is preying on Max's best friend, O.B.?"
Speaking of her new role, Summer said: "I've auditioned for Hollyoaks before so to get the part this time round was fantastic!"
She added: "The storyline sounds like it will be lots of fun and hopefully I can bring some of my own experiences to the character."
Summer's first scenes are due to air on Monday, October 1 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
