The Sun Hill officers cheer on DS Stuart Turner (Doug Rao) after watching his TV appearance on crime show, ‘Wanted’. Pleased with his own efforts, Stuart is determined to crack the burglary case reconstructed on the show. Ian and Patricia Stroud’s (Lucy Fleming) house was broken into by two masked men who stole their jewellery while Ian suffered a massive heart attack. When Stuart talks to Patricia to ask if she recalls anything suspicious happening before the robbery, her son Andrew (Joseph Kloska) reminds her that the tyres on her car were slashed.

Later, Stuart is told that the man seen outside the Stroud’s house the night of the robbery is Rob Tinning (Andy Moore), who has just been released from prison after serving eight years for rape. After further investigation, DC Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) discovers that Ian Stroud was Tinning’s defence lawyer when he was convicted, but he was released when new evidence proved he was innocent. Rob is brought in for questioning and admits that in his anger he slashed the Stroud’s tyres, but insists he had nothing to do with the robbery. Meanwhile, PCs Beth Green (Louisa Lytton)********Kiddiecop Alert******** and Benjamin Gayle (Micah Balfour) team up to help with the investigation and the case leads them to a skate park where they identify a graffiti artist who may have witnessed the robbery.

Back at the station, a viewer of ‘Wanted’ comes to the station and to hand in a necklace she bought from a jewellery shop which she recognised from the show as Patricia’s. Terry and Stuart bring the jewellery shop owner, Gail Quigley (Dariel Pertwee) in for questioning where she admits she was given the goods by Dave McClure (Neil Grainger), who said that he would be back for his pawned goods when he had the money. When questioned, Dave finally admits that he works for loan shark, Clive Beckett and when Andrew Stroud had failed to pay up, Dave was told to lean on him, pushing Andrew to breaking point. Stuart and Terry race to Clive’s house where they find a distressed Andrew holding him over a balcony…

4th October 2007
Out on patrol PCs Sally Armstrong (Ali Bastian) and Emma Keane (Melanie Gutteridge) find badly beaten woman Linda Mazvidza (Gracy Goldman). Her partner Simon Munroe (Jay Simpson) is questioned and he suggests the attack may be racial as Linda is an asylum seeker.

Sally and Emma are later called to a disturbance at a rubbish tip and find Linda’s son Adie (Kedar Williams-Stirling) with a bag of passports - the team are shocked when they discover Linda has been selling them. When questioned, she admits to DC Mickey Webb (Chris Simmons) that she is applying for residency in the UK – her husband, Joseph (Daniel Kobbina) was a political activist and was murdered in Zimbabwe. She refuses to say who she is working for but explains that in return for selling the passports, she was promised documentation of her own. After further investigation, the team discover that Linda has already been granted permission to stay in the UK, so must have been lying.

Later, a confused and angry Simon turns up at the station to tell the officers that Adie has been snatched by his father, Joseph. A distraught Linda finally confesses that she escaped from Joseph and wanted new identification for herself and Adie. Joseph is a very violent man high up in the Zimbabwean government and she needs to get away from him. The race is soon on to find Adie before he is smuggled out of the country…

Back at the station, Inspector Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor) is shocked when she sees one of the stolen passports is Vince Murray’s (Nicky Henson), a bank robber who blew up a vault in 1988, nearly killing Gina and her Sergeant at the time, Tom Ryan (John Rogan). She visits Tom who insists it can’t be Vince as he died in the blast, but she is later told that the facial recognition software has confirmed the photograph is him.

Tom visits Gina to tell her that he has done some investigating of his own and discovered that Vince’s GP, Doctor Sanderson (George Layton), was accused of fraud. He was also the GP of the man they believed had escaped in the bank robbery – the records could easily have been swapped. Gina finally arrests him for the robbery he committed years ago. Although pleased he has been caught, Gina remains uneasy and begins to question why he would risk coming back into the country…
