For people who watch the US Episodes ahead of Sky One to discuss the latest goings on.

OMG what a brilliant episoder, I was really dubious about how they could pull off a third series but it's brilliant. Completley different in style. The SONA jail is hell on earth! Makes fox river seem like a holiday camp!

And omg they've kidnapped LJ and Sarah! Will Micheal be able to break that Whistler bloke out!?

Cracking stuff! :D

A woman known as Susan B. Anthony does her make-up before a vanity, and uses the make-up to cover deep scratches on her face.
Michael stands among a screaming crowd in the yard of Sona. Two men size each other up in a circle of prisoners.
Lincoln begs a clerk at the American Embassy to get Michael out of Sona. The clerk tells Lincoln that “the worst of the worst” are inside Sona. The prisoners rioted so badly, that the guards pulled out and left the prisoners to fend for themselves. The man looks Lincoln in they eyes, “Whatever goes in…never comes out. Unless it’s dead.”
Michael watches in horror as the two men fight until one man finally snaps the other man’s neck.
The next morning, Lincoln stands in the office of the American Consul. The Consul is on the phone trying to get Michael out of Sona. The Consul tells Lincoln that Michael’s case looks like Michael will walk away an innocent man and he’ll be transferred to another facility in forty-eight hours.
Michael sees Bellick, stripped of his clothes and beaten, walking across the yard. Bellick asks some inmates for water and they point him to a mud puddle. They shove Bellick down, and kick the muddy water in his face. When the inmates leave, a scrawny prisoner named Sapo, also only nearly naked, helps Bellick to his feet.
Mahone sits alone, his hands shaking. He reaches into his jacket to remove his pen. After unscrewing the top, he finds he’s out of pills. Michael walks in and Mahone springs up to meet him. Mahone demands that Michael helps him when his court date comes. Michael refuses to help and wants to know why The Company wanted him in a Panamanian prison. Mahone doesn’t know anything, he was just following orders. Mahone pleads with Michael to work together. Michael tells Mahone he won’t help him, because every time he looks at Mahone, he sees the man that killed his father.
A woman stands outside the Sona, screaming and demanding that the prisoners send out the dead. Lincoln enters a guard shack. The guards call for Michael to come to visitation, which is a chain link cage extending out from Sona. The brothers meet again and try to make light of the situation. Lincoln tells Michael to hold on another day, and that he does not know where Sarah is. Lincoln walks away, promising to see Michael tomorrow.
Back in Sona, a young inmate named McGrady runs up to Michael asking about basketball. McGrady runs off when a group of thugs approaches Michael and tell him it is time for orientation. The leader, Sammy, flashes a knife and Michael follows.
Michael, Mahone and several other inmates are led into Lechero’s den. Lechero is the man who controls Sona. Lechero recognizes Michael and Mahone from the news. Michael says he won’t make waves. Lechero tells them that if there is conflict, the men must settle it in the yard in a fight to the death. Another inmate at the end of the line loses control of his bladder. Lechero strikes the man and beats him. Michael barks out, “I think he gets the message!” Lechero tries to intimidate Michael, but it doesn’t work. Lechero angrily dismisses the inmates.
Lincoln talks to a Constable inside a police station. He hands the Constable a photo of Sarah, asking the man to call Lincoln if anyone matching her description shows up.
Bellick sees Sapo wearing shoes. They belong to the dead man who lost the fight the night before. Sammy shouts at Bellick and Sapo that they need to start earning their rent. He hands them some plastic parkas and leads them to the prison toilet. Sapo and Bellick protest the job, but Sammy doesn’t care. He tells them to clean it and burn it in the sewers when they’re done.
Lechero looks down at Michael from the second tier. He makes eye contact with another inmate and nods towards Michael. The inmate nods back. Another one of Lechero’s men tells Lechero another American arrived and, “He’s got this hand…”
Michael looks across the yard as T-Bag enters and makes eye contact. From above, Mahone looks down and sees T-Bag. Over the loud speakers, the guards call for Michael to go to visitation.
Michael meets a man who introduces himself as Elliott Pike. Pike tells Michael, “I got a lot of big guns behind me, Mr. Scofield. People you might want to have in your corner should you ever decide, say, to break out of here.” Michael knows who Pike is working for and walks away uninterested in the offer.
Michael stands in his cell and looks around. Another inmate storms in, demanding his “stash.” He grabs Michael around the neck, but is pulled off by Lechero. Lechero orders Michael and his bed be checked for the other man’s drugs. They find a bag under Michael’s bed, clearly a set up. The inmate tells Michael they’re not through.
The Constable phones Lincoln. They found a woman matching Sarah’s description. She’s at the morgue.
Bellick and Sapo stop and beg a cook for some pieces of chicken. The man smugly hands Sapo and clean bone. Sapo begins to panic about starving to death. Bellick asks him to hang in there and walks away. Sapo pulls some wire from a cell window, and climbs up.
T-Bag finds Michael and asks him why the government would want him in Sona. Before Michael answers, the inmates cry out, “RUNNER!” They flood to the windows to see Sapo shuffling across the no-man’s land. The guards in the towers tell him to stop, but he keeps moving. Bellick screams out as machine gun fire cuts Sapo down.
Michael tries to deal with what he’s just seen and heads to his cell. On his bed is Lechero’s chicken foot. He has been challenged to a fight.
Lincoln walks with the Constable and looks at the body. The Constable pulls back the sheet, and Lincoln pauses. “It’s not her.”
Sammy leads Michael to Lechero, who enjoys seeing Michael holding the chicken foot. Michael tries to argue his case, but Lechero reminds Michael that the fight is Sona’s way of keeping justice. Michael tries to get Lechero to admit that he set up the fight. Lechero doesn’t blink.
Deep below the prison, in the sewers, someone is listening to Lechero’s conversation.
Bellick wades through the sewer with a bucket of bathroom sludge. The person who was listening to Lechero whistles to Bellick. He asks Bellick to do him a favor and promises to feed Bellick. The man hands meat through a small crack. Bellick pops the piece in his mouth and chews, and then asks where the man found chicken. After a pause, the raspy voice replies, “That’s not chicken.” Bellick doesn’t care and takes more. In exchange, the man hands Bellick two pieces of paper.
Lincoln answers his phone, it’s LJ. LJ says he’s in Panama and got Lincoln’s cell phone number from the Consulate. LJ tells Lincoln to meet him and Sarah in a restaurant.
The inmates gather and cheer in the yard. It’s time for the fight. T-Bag watches Lechero closely. Another inmate bumps into Lechero and spills soda on his shoes. T-Bag seizes his moment. He approaches Lechero and offers to clean the soda off Lechero’s shoes. Lechero appreciates T-Bag’s subservient manner.

Mahone stands outside Michael’s cell and tells Michael to attack the man’s knee cap. Mahone tells Michael to survive because he is Mahone’s, “get out jail free card.”
Bellick pushes through the crowd and bumps into Michael, slipping one of the pieces of paper into Michael’s back pocket. Bellick crosses the yard and does the same to Michael’s foe.
Lechero barks that the only rule is “no weapons,” then calls for the men to fight.
Michael shouts that he won’t fight. When the inmate looks up to Lechero, Michael attacks the man’s knee. The man buckles under the kick, allowing Michael the advantage. The inmates cheer for Michael to finish the fight. When he tires to leave the circle, they shove him back in. The inmate stands and lands a few punches, but Michael quickly knocks him back down. Someone tosses a blade into the ring. Mahone sees this and steps forward. The fallen inmate grabs the blade and stands, and then lunges at Michael. Mahone blocks the man’s arm, and then snaps the man’s neck. Mahone quickly shouts out, “Rules are rules, remember!?” The crowd breaks up, Lechero walks away frustrated.
Lincoln enters the restaurant looking for LJ and Sarah. Susan B. Anthony sits behind him, flirts with him a little. As Lincoln walks away, she calls him by his name. “We have a lot to discuss.” Lincoln slowly sits. There is anger on his face. She tells him that he needs to talk to Michael.
A military vehicle collects the dead from inside Sona, and Sapo’s body in no-man’s land. A guard shoots the bodies to make sure they’re dead.
The screaming woman from Lincoln’s first visit looks over the bodies. When the coast is clear, she checks their pockets. She finds the second note that Bellick left. It reads:
Versailles
1989
V. Madrid
Michael waits in visitation and finds the other note. Lincoln walks to the fence and tells Michael “There are some people who want you to break someone out of here.” Michael shakes his head, he can’t do that again. Lincoln continues, “His name’s James Whistler.” Lincoln shows Michael video on a handheld device. It’s video of Sarah and LJ, holding current newspapers and begging for help. Lincoln tells Michael he has a week to find Whistler and break out of Sona. Otherwise, Sarah and LJ are dead.

After receiving his daily water ration, Michael tells McGrady, the young Panamanian inmate, that he’s looking for James Whistler. It turns out that everyone is looking for Whistler, who killed the the mayor of Panama City’s son. Michael and McGrady’s conversation comes to an end when a scuffle breaks out at the front of the water line. The fight knocks the water drum to the ground, emptying the contents. Lechero promises the thirsty inmates there will be more water.
Michael questions Bellick about the note he slipped into his pocket. Bellick says the note came from Whistler, who is hiding in the sewer system beneath Sona. Michael locates Whistler in a ghastly tunnel, holed-up behind a wall. Whistler tells Michael that if he leaves his sanctuary and goes above ground, the other inmates will kill him.
At a restaurant in Panama City, Lincoln meets with Susan B., who demands a daily progress report on his efforts to locate Whistler. Sara and LJ will be released once Whistler is safe.
Back at Sona, McGrady tells Mahone that, according to Lechero, whoever finds and kills Whistler will end up a free man. It doesn’t take Mahone long to find Whistler’s hiding place. Using a pipe, Mahone pries loose chunks of wall, digging a panicked Whistler out of his sanctuary.
During visitation, Michael passes Whistler’s note to Lincoln. Michael still doesn’t know what the note means, but feels it might buy them some leverage. After leaving the penitentiary, Lincoln spots Sucre at a bus stop. Lincoln asks Sucre for his help in freeing Michael, but Sucre is heading to Chicago to see Maricruz. Lincoln tells Sucre that if he changes his mind, he’s staying at the Plaza del Sol hotel. As Sucre’s bus pulls away, Lincoln notices an advertisement on the back of the bus for Banco de Versailles. Lincoln opens the note Michael gave him. It reads:
Versailles
1989
V. Madrid
Meanwhile, Sofia studies the same text, written on a different piece of paper. She heads for the bank.
At Sona, Bellick informs Lechero and his men that Whistler is hiding in the sewers. Michael notices Bellick leaving Lechero’s room—and realizes he’s got a big problem on his hands. Michael races back to the sewer, where he encounters three of Lechero’s men. It turns out that their attempt to capture Whistler was stopped by Mahone, who has one hand around Whistler’s throat and is brandishing a pipe in the other. Whistler breaks free of Mahone’s grip and runs off. He’s pursued by Mahone and Lechero’s men.
With time running out, Michael makes his way to Lechero’s room, where he tries to broker a deal. Lechero isn’t interested. Michael then approaches McGrady in the yard and pays him to bring a gallon of moonshine to his cell.
Sofia arrives at Banco de Versailles, where she hands the note to a bank employee. The employee tells Sofia she’s a signatory on Whistler’s account. Unbeknownst to Sofia, Lincoln is observing nearby.
Back in the sewer system, Lechero’s men advance on the outnumbered Mahone. But Mahone fends them off with the pipe and forces Whistler toward the exit.
At a bus stop in Panama, Sucre encounters a young mother and her baby. Some policemen happen by, prompting Sucre to have second thoughts about continuing his journey to Chicago (as his presence could put Maricruz in jeopardy).
The bank employee brings Sofia a safety deposit box. Sofia reaches inside and removes the contents. When Sofia exits the bank, Lincoln confronts her. He reaches his hand into her purse and removes what she took from the safety deposit box: a pocket-size book on birds. In the distance, Agent Pike witnesses the exchange.
Meanwhile, an angry mob of protestors gathers near Lechero’s room. They demand more water. Lechero phones his supplier, Colonel Escamilla, but is unable to convince him to bring more water to the prison.
Mahone forces Whistler into the yard, where they’re swarmed by inmates. Lechero attempts to take control, but Wyatt tells him that, because of the lack of water, he’s now powerless. At that moment, Michael detonates bags of moonshine he’s stuffed into a sewer pipe. The explosion causes water to gush from a pipe in the yard. Inmates rush toward the gurgling liquid—and Lechero realizes Michael is responsible for the turnaround. Lechero informs Mahone he’s been outbid and, in a sign of gratitude, tells Michael that Whistler is now in the clear and won’t be killed.
Susan B. confronts Lincoln and demands what he took from Sofia. Lincoln gives her a small book, but it turns out he has the real book (the one Sofia gave him) hidden away.
At the prison, Lechero has his men drown Wyatt in a bucket of water. Meanwhile, Michael tells Whistler he has no idea how they’re going to escape.

Sucre comes to Lincoln, looking for money. He refuses to help Linc look for Sara and LJ. Meanwhile, Michael finds that Lechero isn't interested in any kind of truce with him. Lincoln visits Michael and shows him today's photo of Sara and LJ. Sara's pointing to the words "Santa Rita" on the paper they're holding up. Could that be where they're being held?
Linc tells Susan that Michael won't help with Whistler until he talks to Sara to make sure she's ok. Susan refuses, and Michael learns there's only one phone in Sona – and Lechero has it.
Mahone meets with his public defender and finds that he has a trial date – next year. And even if Michael testifies he set Mahone up, it won't wash – one inmate taking the fall for another is common. Realizing how trapped he is, Mahone begs for his medication. The attorney simply thinks he's a drug addict and abandons him. Mahone turns to the other addicts in the prison for a fix of something, anything. Before he can shoot up, Whistler, realizing Michael isn't entirely on his side, forges an uneasy alliance with Mahone.
Meanwhile, Whistler has an emotional reunion with Sofia at the visitor's cage. She says the book was taken by Scofield's brother. Putting the pieces together, he says it's okay that Lincoln has the book. She really doesn't know what's important about the book, and Whistler won't tell, to her frustration. How can she help him if she doesn't know what's going on? As she signs out, she sees Lincoln's address, logged when he visited Michael.
Lechero finds that business on the outside seems slower than usual – his take is getting smaller – and his men are losing faith in him. But his cousin says everything's normal. Perhaps the problem is inside the prison?
Sucre tries to sell the gun he bought the other day, but the gun shop clerk is only willing to give him 1/3 of what he paid. He sells the gun, buys some tequila and gets himself stinking drunk.
Michael blackmails T-Bag into helping him get Lechero's cell phone. T-Bag surreptitiously unplugs the charger, so Lechero has to leave it charging at an unexpected time. T-Bag sneaks the phone to Michael while Lechero is out, telling him he has less then 30 minutes to use it – or they're both dead. Linc strong-arms Susan into putting Sara on the phone right away. Sara, speaking in code, lets him know that "Santa Rita" means "Saint Rita" – the patron saint of lost causes. She's not in Santa Rita – she can SEE St. Rita from wherever she is. Michael, with T-Bag's help, just barely manages to get the phone back into the charger before Lechero returns – but not firmly enough. The charger light isn't on. Lechero knows something's up, and hits redial – and gets Linc. Linc doesn't speak, just hangs up. Lechero has the number researched.
Sofia catches up with Linc and finds he's helping break Whistler out of prison – and that he's being blackmailed into it. She's stunned; she thought Whistler was trying to get out legally, and that he's only a fisherman. They take a cab to a monument of St. Rita, which is in the red light district. He finds where Sara and LJ are being held and charges in, but their guards spirit them away in a van.
Whistler tells Michael that he's in prison because he was running a charter boat. One day, he got a call demanding to know exactly where he took a naturalist of some sort who took water samples and measurements. He said he couldn't remember – but then government types started snooping around. And then a bar fight led to his incarceration in Sona. The people who are trying to get him out demand that as soon as they do, he show them where he took that guy. The book is his trip log – the only way he can retrace his steps.
Sammy suspects T-Bag of disloyalty to Lechero, and tells T-Bag to watch his back. T-Bag responds by starting to poison Lechero's mind against his men.
Bellick gets himself some shoes, thanks to Stash, the prison's tranny barber. As he picks a comfy pair from Stash's stash, he spies Michael meeting with Mahone. Mahone forces Michael to admit he needs Whistler alive, to break him out of Sona. Bellick begins to hatch a plan.
Susan calls Linc with a warning against him ever trying another rescue attempt. There's a box by the trash. A bloodsoaked box...

EPISODE 304: Good Fences
Airdate: 10/08/2007
As Michael starts to hatch an escape scheme, Whistler warns him that if he doesn't give up the book, he'll tell the Company that Linc has it. Michael is unfazed. He asks to borrow McGrady's cross necklace, but McGrady demands to know why.

Linc, still freaked by the bloody box, visits Michael, who asks Linc to make friends with the prison gravedigger. We see in flashback what was in the box: Sara's severed head.

Michael cuts the power in the prison, then visits a trembling Mahone, going through withdrawal, to enlist him in his escape plan. He asks for a black felt tip pen. Bellick's watching. Mahone begins to hallucinate that Haywire is there, warning him against trusting Michael.

A man tries to escape; Lechero catches him and cuts his Achilles tendons in front of the other prisoners. Meanwhile, Sofia visits Whistler and insists on helping. Whistler asks her to dig into the Scofield brothers' pasts. And Linc meets with Susan, who demands Linc give her the real book.
When Sucre refuses to help, Linc enlists Sofia as a translator so he can make friends with the prison gravedigger. The gravedigger recognizes Sofia from the prison gates. Okay, they're going to have to try honesty.

Lechero, knowing Michael is an engineer, goes to him to see if he can help get the electricity back on. If Lechero's cell phone dies, he can't get any food into Sona and they'll all die. Michael says the electricity can only be repaired from No Man's Land, the area between the inner and outer gates of the prison, where any escaping prisoner is shot dead by tower guards. If he's going to trust that Lechero can protect him from the guards, he'll do it – but only in exchange for a specific corner cell – the first to get sunlight in the morning, he says. Bellick horns in, offering to help dig, and letting Michael know he overheard his conversations with Mahone. On the dig, Michael won't include Bellick in his plans. So Bellick goes to Lechero and tells him Michael's planning an escape, and that he saw Michael bury something in a junction box in No Man's Land. Lechero goes to Michael and demands to see what he buried. It's duct tape – to fix the frayed wires, says Michael. Time to turn the power back on; Lechero insists on coming along with Michael. They arrive in the main power room. There is a fusebox, where Michael has jammed McGrady's cross – this is what's really been keeping the electricity off. The main power switch won't work while the cross is there, and Michael can't get the cross without Lechero seeing. So Lechero picks a fight with Sammy, during which he is able to surreptitiously remove the cross. The power comes back on. Lechero, though suspicious, is satisfied for now.

T-Bag kills Nieves, Lechero's man for smuggling drugs and money into the prison, and makes it look like an overdose. Lechero already suspected Nieves of thievery; this just confirms it. T-Bag takes Nieves' place in Lechero's organization.

Linc arranges to meet Susan and get $15,000 from her. Sofia insists on coming along; Linc refuses to let her. And he tells Sucre to get lost already if he's just gonna run off.

Mahone brings Michael a felt tip pen. Whistler doesn't understand why Michael repaired the electricity – now the electric fence, which hadn't been working in the first place – is back online. Michael says they'll escape by making the fence as deadly as possible.

Susan and Linc meet with the gravedigger; the money is to bribe him. He asks for more money; Susan shoots him dead.

The hallucinatory Haywire begins to urge Mahone to kill Michael. T-Bag brings Mahone some drugs, and he takes them to steady his shakes. He visits Michael in his new cell – which overlooks the electric fence – bringing him the black felt tip pen, which he'd left behind in his old cell. Now why would Michael do that? Full of new confidence and self-control, Mahone says he'll kill Michael if he's not included in the escape attempt.

Linc, still hiding that Sara's dead, tells Michael that the gravedigger's been killed – but Sucre is now the gravedigger. He couldn't abandon his friends after all.

Susan sends the bird book back to Whistler, who then visits Michael to find out the details of the escape plan. They watch Sucre bury Nieves. Every body is sprayed with Kesslivol, a chemical that kills the odor of decomposition. And when heated to a certain degree – as it can be by, say, Sucre surreptitiously spraying it on an electric fence – it can corrode steel.

Prison Break's executive producer Nick Santora has explained the decision to kill off the pivotal character of Sara Tancredi in brutal circumstances.

Tancredi's head was found in a box by Lincoln Burrows in the latest episode 'Good Fences' (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/cult/a77686/s03e04-good-fences.html), following actress Sarah Wayne Callies' departure from the series. Santora, who also writes episodes for the show, told Prison Break Magazine: "We didn't know it was definite until sometime in the summer, so we just had to change our storylines and come up with something that was jarring, emotional and would still drive our characters.

"The one thing that was never an option was recasting her with a completely different actresss so that there would be someone who looked nothing like Sarah Wayne Callies, running through Panama pretending to be Dr Tancredi. We couldn't do that or insult our audience so we knew we had to figure out a way to explain why she wasn't on camera."

Santora also promised that Tancredi's death will have a profound impact on the show's central character when he discovers her grizzly fate: "Michael Schofield is going to do things you never imagined he could do. It is going to flip a switch."

Linc visits Michael; the escape deadline is tomorrow. Linc needs to arrange a getaway vehicle for 3pm – the only way to avoid the military jeeps is to be able to see them, so they need to escape in broad daylight.
A new inmate, Andrew Tyge, sees Michael and Whistler talking. He recognizes one of them. Michael asks McGrady for a watch and binoculars. Michael outlines his escape plan to Whistler; but first, he needs to get to know the guards better to find out their weaknesses. Whistler's cell overlooks the other guard's tower; Michael asks him to observe him all day, and gives him one half of the binoculars.
An impatient Susan is looking at a blueprint of a large building and labeling it with numbered post-its – steps in a plan?
Sucre is approached by Lechero's cousin, Augusto – he had an arrangement with the previous gravedigger to smuggle things into Sona. He'll give Sucre $5000 to do this just once. Sucre agrees.
Whistler finds that there's a time of day when there's a blind spot for the guard for six minutes. Michael has found that the other guard occasionally adjusts his TV when there's interference – and he can build a transmitter to help jam his signal. Tyge is spying; Michael almost catches him, but not quite. However, Mahone has seen Tyge, and tells him to mind his own business.
Lincoln and Sofia try to take an off-road, but it's a private government road and they're stopped and bullied by the police, though Sofia talks them out of any trouble. The officer says he'll remember Linc, though.
After having sex with Lechero, Sister Mary Francis says that Augusto won't pay for her any more. Lechero won't pay either – he won't pay for sex. She's desperate and broke, but Lechero's offended.
As T-Bag continues to provide Mahone with drugs, Sammy picks up the package that Sucre has smuggled in. Michael steals the microwave of a particularly tough inmate. He uses it to finish his jamming device. It works – but the guard suddenly takes aim at Michael's cell and sprays the window with bullets. An alarm blares. Colonel Escamilla and his men enter the prison – a guard reported seeing a rifle scope, and he's not leaving until he finds the rifle. Sister Mary Francis can't be found by the soldiers; T-Bag hides her and promises to keep her safe. He seems to have a genuine affection for her.
Susan gets a call from General Pad Man, who is behind her kidnapping and blackmail attempts – and calls her Gretchen. She's freelance, but he'll hold her accountable if their plan goes wrong.
The monoscope is found in Michael's cell. The guard, Hurtado, demands to know why Michael was watching him. Whistler steps up and says the scope is actually his, and he wasn't watching the guard, he was watching birds. He shows the bird book as proof that he's a birdwatcher. The General is mollified.
Lechero returns to his cell – to find that Mary tried to steal $30 from his unguarded cashbox. T-Bag steps up and claims he gave the money to her and planned to replace it by the end of the day. Lechero is angry, and roughs T-Bag up, but Mary is out of trouble for now.
Linc buys some supplies at a dive shop, and then goes with Sofia to the beach, not far from the prison gates, where he buries four small scuba tanks. A getaway for himself, Michael, Sofia and Whistler. International waters are 12 miles off the coast. Linc and Sofia start to trust each other.
Augusto pays Sucre for his delivery – and asks him to make another. Sucre resists, but ultimately gives in.
Michael is locked out of his cell, all his belongings inside; his plans are ruined. But Mahone has noticed something else from his own cell – Hurtado has a coffee fix. They and Whistler run into Tyge – who is sure he knows Whistler. He calls him McFadden and says he was in Nice, in 1997, with the Ambassador. Whistler insists Tyge's insane, he's just a fisherman. Neither Michael nor Mahone believe him. But Mahone doesn't care – he just wants to get out.

Episode 307 "Vamonos"

Michael and Whistler are locked into a fight to the death – but Michael privately tells him it's just a distraction. The escape plan still holds; one guard is drugged and they're leaving when the sun gives them cover from the other guard at 3:13pm. Meanwhile, Lincoln is worried that Whistler won't go quietly at the exchange and is worried about LJ. Sucre has an idea...

2:59pm. Hurtado drinks the drugged drink. 3:00pm. Bellick, contrite for once, sympathizes with Michael over Sara's death, but he doesn't want to hear it. 3:03pm. In Sammy and Papo's cell, behind the curtain, Michael uses the sounds of the prisoners baying for the fight to cover the sound of him smashing the concrete around the cell's window. Whistler's worried that Mahone's ratting them out – where is he? He's actually on the way to rat out The Company; he'll get immunity. But then Sullins says there's a problem with the Panamanians; they'll have to put him up in a hotel for a while.

3:10pm. The grate from the cell window is loose. 3:12pm. Hurtado passes out. Just as the glare comes, though, Sammy returns to his cell to get some cash. Although he notices the loose plaster, he quickly leaves. Michael uses the hammock "ladder" to climb out into No Man's Land, but clouds obscure the sun – there's no more glare. Foiled. Michael climbs back up, just barely avoiding being noticed. But what can they do now? Lechero is starting to wonder where they are. And they have trouble untying the hammock and putting the grate back in. They stash the hammock behind the curtain, a corner of it still attached to the window. Lechero finds Michael and Whistler and forces the fight. The other prisoners will kill both of them if they don't go through with it. Whistler is the first to give in to the inevitability – after all, it's either Michael or him now.

3:25pm. Susan brings LJ to the exchange site. Sucre is watching, and reports via cell phone to Linc that LJ's okay. Susan's just got a driver and a bodyguard with her. Where's Michael? Linc gets the hidden scuba gear, but an apologetic Sofia pulls a gun on him to stop him handing Whistler over. 3:30pm. Susan tells LJ that if there's no escape today, she won't need him as a bargaining chip because they'll all be dead.

The drugged Hurtado is found and roused, just as the hammock falls out the window. The guards see it. Meanwhile, an apologetic Whistler gets the drop on Michael and prepares to bash his skull in with a large stone, when the alarm is sounded. Linc and Sofia are near enough to hear it, and realize that Michael and Whistler didn't make it. Linc hides the scuba gear again; he and Sofia are once again on the same side. Linc calls Susan and tells her that Michael and Whistler are with him. They arrange to meet.

Mahone, now cleaned up and in a suit, thinks that Lang and Sullins are just trying to get him to confess to the murders. Lang says the deal's legit, and also knows Mahone's a drug addict. And he's starting to tremble again.

Colonel Escamilla and his soldiers storm the prison to find out who tried to escape; they'll get the death penalty. Papo gets shot because it was his cell. Escamilla, upset that Lechero couldn't keep his men in line, eviscerates Lechero in front of the other prisoners by revealing all the favors he's done for Lechero to keep him in power. T-Bag is hopeful he'll be Lechero's replacement. As Escamilla leaves, Lechero and Sammy realize that Michael's the one who must have tried escaping.

Pike tells Susan that the guards just took a head count; nobody has left Sona today. Sucre reports to Linc that Susan is leaving with LJ. Sucre gets in his car and cuts off Susan's van, letting her plow into him to give Linc time to catch up. Linc punches and disarms her. Agent King, has a hold of LJ. It's a standoff. Finally, Linc convinces Susan to give him one more chance to get Whistler. LJ is safe for now, though he's still her captive. They drive off, and Linc notices several body bags that have fallen out of the back of her van.

Sammy drags Michael to Lechero – but rather than kill him, Lechero, his power in the prison destroyed, wants Michael to help him break out.

Sullins tells Mahone the Panamanians are back on board with his release – but the hearing won't happen until tomorrow. Mahone, starting to get the shakes, demands the hearing happen immediately. Sullins, disgusted with Mahone, tells Lang to cuff him.

Bellick tells Michael he spent his whole career trying to keep bad people behind bars, but that Sara's death has convinced him that maybe there are more bad people outside than in prison.

At Sona's prison gates, Susan has a secret meeting... with Whistler. She's been working for him all along. He originally told her he needed to be out in seven days; she's not filled with confidence when he says that he may actually still be able to accomplish his goals if he gets out in another couple of days from now, but she agrees to give the Scofield brothers more time. The meeting is overheard by Michael.

Episode 306 "Photo Finish "

Michael confronts Tyge about Whistler; Tyge says he worked at the Ambassador Hotel in Nice, then clams up and won't say more. Tyge then spies on Michael, Mahone and Whistler, but can't hear them.

At her hideout, Susan tells LJ about being captured while serving in Mosul. When she heard US choppers coming, she jumped out the window to escape – and it was interpreted as a hostile act. Her rescuers died – and she found out it had been a hostage exchange. Her scars came from being raped and abused over the next three days. And she pointedly tells LJ that tonight is a hostage exchange.

Mahone's tired of Tyge spying on them and warns him to mind his own business. Meanwhile, Linc visits Michael. Michael tells Linc he has to find a way to slip something into Hurtado's coffee. The escape is in just three hours, at 3:13pm. And Michael will call it off unless he gets a current photo of Sara and LJ by 2:30.

T-Bag is getting nowhere finding out who the thief in Lechero's crew is, though he suspects Sammy. Lechero, whose real name is Norman – not a name you want to use around him if you want to continue breathing – wants results. Soon.

Michael scopes out a two-room cell (really, two cells with a door knocked into the wall between them) he's planning to make his escape from, but has to hide when its occupants – Lechero's men, Sammy, Papo and Cheo – arrive. Cheo smokes a cigar Sammy's been receiving in his packages from Augusto. Michael just barely manages to pick the lock on the back room door and get out before he's discovered.

Lang visits Mahone and says she's going to get him out of there – within 48 hours he'll be transferred to St. Louis and will only have to serve eight years, so long as he testifies against the government in the Lincoln Burrows conspiracy. And if he doesn't cooperate, he could be charged with multiple homicide counts. But Mahone turns her down.

There is a commotion in the yard. Tyge's been murdered. If Lechero finds who has gone outside his justice system to settle a dispute, they're in deep trouble. The body was found near where McGrady plays basketball all day, so McGrady is forced to tell Lechero that he saw somebody go into the staircase, and then he heard an argument a minute later. It was Whistler. Lechero comes for Whistler and drags him away. Michael's not buying this; Whistler's got too much at stake. He suspects Mahone.

Whistler tells Lechero he's punishing the wrong man; Lechero must know he has enemies in the government. Lechero is offended at the notion that he would favor the rich and aristocratic. When he was 13, his mother, a maid, was raped by her wealthy employer. He got away with it – but young Norman dressed as a milkman – a "lechero" - and got into the man's gates and killed him. Whistler says he's in here for killing a man who assaulted the woman he loves. Lechero respects this, and agrees to give Whistler time to prove his innocence.

Susan gives Linc drops to knock out the guard. Linc asks for a faked picture of Sara. She agrees, and tells him the exchange is at 9pm tonight.

T-Bag advises Michael to frame Sammy, but Michael can't go through with it. He goes to visit Mahone – and finds a bloody shiv.

Linc just misses an opportunity to drug Hurtado's coffee, so Sofia pretends to need a ride in order to have another chance. Linc follows as they drive off. Hurtado recognizes Sofia from the prison gates and pulls over – he'll arrange private visitation time in Sona with her lover... but only if she'll have sex with him right now. Linc pulls over to investigate; as he gets out of his car, Susan calls to say the photograph is ready. In Hurtado's car, Sofia says okay... so long as Norman doesn't find out. Hurtado, terrified at the thought that he tried to mess with one of Lechero's girls, pulls away. Linc, relaxing, tells Susan there were complications drugging the guard, but they've been taken care of. Susan says the drugs only take an hour to work – why's he drugging the guard now? She hangs up on him and prepares to kill LJ. Just as she's about to do it, Linc calls back and frantically explains about the time switch. Susan suspects a rescue attempt, and hangs up on him again.

Michael confronts Mahone with the shiv, but Mahone is called away to the visitation cage. He is visited by Lang and Sullins, and this time, he agrees to cooperate. Michael goes to Lechero with the shiv, accusing Mahone – but Lechero isn't buying it... he knows Mahone just got out of Sona, and thinks this is too convenient. He seems about to kill Whistler, but then turns and stabs Cheo. Lechero smells the cigar on him; Augusto used to send him those cigars as tribute. He lets Whistler go.

As Sucre sprays Tyge's body, Rafael, a co-worker who may have noticed the packages Sucre's been sneaking in, threatens him. Meanwhile, Linc meets with Susan, who tells him LJ's still alive – and hands him an undoctored photo of Sara holding an old newspaper. This will never fool Michael. Linc visits Michael and tells him that Susan knows about the time change. And he finally has to admit that Sara's dead. Michael walks away as Linc begs him to cooperate for LJ's sake. Michael collapses in grief – and then tells Whistler Sara's dead because of him. And he challenges Whistler to a fight to the death.

Question: Thank god Michael finally found out about Sara on Prison Break. Got any scoop? — Don
Ausiello: Naturally, while I had Paul Adelstein on the horn, I asked him for his thoughts on Sara's controversial head removal. "I actually knew the head in the box was coming, and it was very upsetting," he admitted. "I still found it shocking, even though I knew it was coming…. It was upsetting as a fan of the show to see the character go that way."

Episode 308 "Bang and Burn"
Airdate: 11/12/2007
Sammy is upset; the inmates keep uncovering Papo’s body. He tells Lechero that the inmates don’t fear them any more, and he’s doubly infuriated that Michael seems to have impunity. Lechero tries to convince Sammy not to kill Michael. Meanwhile, Michael brushes past McGrady, who has new clothes in honor of the fact that his father is coming to visit, and meets with Lincoln, who tells him LJ’s okay and they have four more days. Michael accuses Linc of using him like the Company did.

Susan meets with General Pad Man, who tells her it’s time to end this today – time for "bang and burn." She asks him to reconsider; he refuses. She meets with Whistler at the visitation fence and tells him they have to move today; be ready by 5pm. Whistler thinks it’s suicide. And Susan tells him to kill Michael. She then begins to organize a squad of helicopters.

Michael asks Lechero to get the Colonel to postpone the repairs of the bars on the windows, but Lechero says he no longer has any sway with the Colonel. Michael hides as Sammy arrives to report that more men are defecting; he wants to bring Cristobal into their gang, a wild-eyed, crazy, large man. Lechero agrees to meet with him.

A man named Tommy Day calls Sofia, claiming to be Whistler’s landlord, and asks her to come over regarding a broken pipe in his apartment. One of Susan’s agents is listening to the call. Meanwhile, a trembling Mahone, going through severe withdrawal, confesses to Lang that he killed Oscar Shales – and turned to drugs because he was wracked with guilt. He begs Lang to get him some drugs; any testimony he gives in this condition won’t be worth anything. However, before she returns, Sullins arrives and says it’s time go testify. Just as the panel begins, Sullins realizes how far gone Mahone is. Mahone says he can handle it, but he comes across as a ranting, paranoid, conspiracy-theory lunatic.

Michael tells Whistler they’ve got four days, and asks who the woman was he saw him talking to at the gates. Whistler says she was from the Company, and he’s getting to the point where he just wants out, he doesn’t care how. He later apologizes. T-Bag delivers a message from Lechero – a map of his room and the time 4pm. It’s 3:50 now. Whistler surreptitiously grabs a shank as they head towards Lechero’s place. They find a secret room with Lechero’s private stash of goods. Just as Whistler’s about to shank Michael, Lechero arrives, enters a code to open another door, and leads them to a secret underground tunnel that’s blocked by debris. Time to dig out… or up. To the middle of No Man’s Land. But they’ll need to build a support brace or it’ll collapse and bury them alive. Sammy arrives; Lechero only just manages to hide Michael. Whistler claims to be claustrophobic and tries to leave; Michael asks what he really wants. Just then, Lechero returns. Michael asks for his cell phone to call Linc. Lechero refuses and hurries them out of his room before Sammy returns.

At the mysterious apartment, Sofia finds shredded papers, and lots of documents, including a passport with Whistler’s picture and the name "Gary Miller." Susan arrives and says she knows where Whistler is, threatens to kill Sofia if she keeps interfering, takes the papers, and tells her to just go home and get ready to have Whistler returned to her.

Linc and Sucre hatch a plan. They record some gunshots on a boombox. They then rent a rundown old shack and set the boombox in the window; the gunfire sounds convincing. Linc admits he stole this plan from the film Home Alone, which he used to watch with LJ.

Michael asks McGrady to give his father a message – a phone call to make. McGrady doesn’t want to involve his father in Michael’s trouble, but Michael begs, saying Lincoln’s life is on the line. McGrady finally agrees.

Whistler and Sofia meet at the fence; he makes her promise not to go near Lincoln today – go home and stay there. Sofia asks about the apartment, not letting on she’s already been there. He denies knowledge of the place.

McGrady’s father, Alfonso, calls Lincoln and tells him "Don’t come home for dinner." Linc knows this is code to watch his back. Sofia shows up, trying to warn him something is wrong. Pike is watching. Susan orders them all killed. Linc scrolls through his cell phone’s history, looking for a particular number. It turns out to be Lechero’s phone – and Sammy answers. Linc says he needs to get a message to Michael; it’s life or death. Sammy asks how he got this number. Linc says "You called me a few days ago – I picked up but didn’t say anything." Sammy hangs up. He accuses Lechero of being in league with Michael, and storms off. Meanwhile, Linc and Sucre get the drop on Pike and kills him. Lechero confronts Michael and tells him to tell Linc never to call him again. He gives Michael his phone; Michael calls Linc and they realize that the Company are going to break Whistler out themselves – the brothers, Sofia and LJ have become expendable.

At that, Susan’s helicopter squad begins to descend upon Sona. Michael finds Whistler on the roof, where one copter is lowering a rope for him; another copter is opening fire on the guards. Michael grabs Whistler’s legs as he climbs the rope. The escape copter is hit by gunfire from Sona’s guards; Michael and Whistler fall back onto the roof. The other copter is hit as well. The pilots abort the mission. Susan, listening via radio, knows she’s in trouble. Whistler and Michael race back inside and quickly change their shirts, hoping they weren’t recognized by the guards in the distance. Soldiers once again storm Sona, led by a General Zavala. He confronts Michael – two escape attempts in two days, soon after Michael arrived? He’s caused too many problems in Sona, and is summarily removed by the soldiers, taken who knows where – with Whistler and Lechero now left to fend for themselves.
