David is babysitting Bethany when Sarah goes to see the wedding photographer, but his attention is not focused on her as he sits in the garden chatting to Darryl.
However, when he goes inside and finds the doll that he'd hidden the ecstasy pills in in pieces and the tablets strewn across the floor, he's horrified and fears the worst. He frantically tries his best to bring the tablet up by making Beth sick with salt water and when Sarah arrives home he urges her to get Beth seen to. Sarah's not worried until Beth starts convulsing and immediately calls an ambulance. Will Bethany be okay and will David reveal what really happened?
Tyrone's forced to apologise but knows that Paul is playing a game and is frustrated that he has no proof and Paul seems to be outplaying him at every step. Meanwhile, at the restaurant, Leanne is suspicious when she overhears Paul telling the bank to send all future correspondence to the restaurant not his home address. Will Paul get caught out?
Roy and Hayley are drifting further apart as Hayley can't help feeling upset about Christian and Roy's lack of compassion. Hayley's not herself in the factory and everyone's shocked when she snaps at them all to stop gossiping and get on with their work. Will Hayley get over Christian or will she face her fear and tell him the truth?
Elsewhere, Violet is left on her own again as Sean goes on another date with Marcus. She goes to the pub for some company and finds Jamie there...
Beth is in a critical condition in hospital and the medical staff want to know what she has consumed and if she's had access to any drugs. Sarah confesses she has not been with her but is sure that she hasn't. However, when the doctor reveals this is a matter of life or death, guilty David is forced to confess that she's taken an ecstasy tablet. The staff swing into action to save Bethany, but will she pull through and will David ever be forgiven?
Meanwhile, things are no better between Hayley and Roy and they're avoiding the issue. Hayley makes an attempt to carry on as normal by booking Friday off work for his birthday but its clear that Hayley isn't ready to move on…
Tyrone's furious when he's forced to help out with the delivery of the recliner and is irked when Paul receives a hero's welcome when he arrives home. He still doesn't trust Paul, but how is he going to prove it?
Elsewhere, Jamie tells Violet that he has had a call from his mum and it seems she is off the booze and getting married next week. He asks Violet if she'll come along, will Violet agree to be Jamie's date?
19th September
Bethany's still not recovered consciousness and devastated David rushes home to tell Darryl what has happened. When Gail returns she finds the pair of them sat in the car and launches at Darryl. Jerry comes out and Gail tells him what has happened but David covers for his friend and says he lied, the drugs weren’t Darryl’s. Gail doesn’t care where they came from and when the police come to arrest David she lets him go with them alone.
The police tell a terrified David that he'll be charged with manslaughter if Bethany doesn't make it but let him off with warning. However, when he returns home Gail and Sarah are shocked to see him and despite his genuine and heartfelt apology, Gail tells him to pack his things. Where will David go?
Becky's upset that things are still tense between Hayley and Roy and implores them both to try and work things out. However, Hayley is still convinced that she must put Christian behind her and move on for the sake of her marriage. And as Roy immerses himself in reducing the cafe’s carbon footprint so as to avoid dealing with the situation, it seems unlikely that this problem is going to be resolved any time soon…
Meanwhile, it appears as though Sally's getting more out of her lessons with John than pure academic stimulation. Does John reciprocate her feelings?
Elsewhere, Liz is annoyed when Vernon books their wedding for New Year's Eve, the busiest night of the year! Will they have to change the date?

Gail has washed her hands of David and asserts that if he has any sense he'll stay well away from them.
Meanwhile, David's spent the night in Darryl’s shed but when Jerry finds out he's been harboring him he throws him out straight away. However, when David arrives late at the salon, he explains to Audrey that Gail has asked him to leave. Audrey pleads with Gail not to give up on her son as he clearly has problems and is genuinely remorseful about what happened to Beth, but Gail refuses and asks Audrey not to help him this time either. Will Gail forgive Audrey for undermining her and offering David shelter?
Hayley's trying to make a real effort on Roy's birthday and buys him a tent so they can go on eco-friendly holiday. However, she's still on edge and after making small talk she finally summons up the courage to tell him that she wants to see Christian again. Roy's uneasy but tries to take in Hayley's news, asserting that he will not tolerate any more lies both for Christian's sake and for the sake of their marriage. Will Hayley tell the truth? Or will she have to make a choice between her husband and her son?
John realises he has booked theatre tickets with Sally for the night of Fiz’s birthday and suggests that Fiz and Kevin come along too. Neither Fiz nor Sally are too pleased!
