Sergeant Callum Stone (Sam Callis) and PC Leela Kapoor (Seema Bowri) respond to a call regarding an assault and discover prostitute Olivia Rossington (Julia Mallam) has been badly beaten by punter Valentin Turovich (Pip Torrens). Olivia tells Leela that Turovich has a reputation for being violent during sex and was high on coke when he assaulted her.

After convincing Olivia to press charges, Stone and Leela are frustrated when they are told Turovich is an Eastern European diplomat who has full immunity. When they discover Turovich is to be deported at the end of the day, they are determined to find something stronger to charge him with. Stone is intrigued when his informant Lucy Thomas (Candis Nergaard) tells him there is a rumour that Turovich murdered missing prostitute Jasmine Rhodes some years ago and believes they have made a breakthrough. After further investigation, the officers are convinced the diplomat is guilty and race to his house to find the evidence.

Later, fed up with clashing with the station’s Fed Rep Leela, who plays everything by the book, Stone calls in a favour with a contact at the foreign office and she soon finds herself accepting a new position outside Sun Hill…

Elsewhere, DS Phil Hunter (Scott Maslen) and DC Grace Dasari (Amita Dhiri) work together to investigate the case of a missing painting worth £20,000. Artist Ben Westlake (David Hartley) is absolutely furious and tells the officers he suspects the delivery man who he had a huge argument with. Grace and Phil decide to track down the subject of the painting Paul Fry (Tristam Summers), an ex lover of Ben’s. After interrupting a nude sitting at an art class, Paul admits he was angry with Ben for putting an intimate painting of him in an exhibition without telling him, but swears he didn’t steal it. Later, it dawns on Phil and Grace that the theft has created a huge amount of publicity for Ben and they wonder if the thief is closer to home…

When the woman on the mobile footage is confirmed as Penny Wilson (Rebecca Hands-Wicks), a colleague of Kevin’s, the officer’s rush to her house where they find her having a blazing argument with Kevin. But the officer’s main concern is whether the children are there…

However, his girlfriend Magda (Marzena Rychlik) reveals that Roman has had problems with workers on the building site where he is employed, in particular Bruce Simner (Derek Ezenagu).

Ben and Will head to the building site to talk to Bruce and the other builders, but are frustrated when they get nowhere with their line of questioning. Talking to Roman again, he finally admits that he was caught by Bruce and his accomplices, poaching fish from a lake on the common.
