Disapearing Characters

Has anybody else noticed how people in Hollyoaks just seem to disapear for months with no explaination to where they have gone :searchme:

Amy seems to have disapeared but little leah is with Mike,

Claire has all of a sudden gone somewhere, although she is due back to sell the loft,

Where did Chris the student go to??

I've noticed that ever since i started watching it a few years ago!
After a big story line I think the actors have time off. During a major story line the main actors are in the show everyday but once the stories at an end they seem to rest the actors for a week or two then bring them back with no explanation and carry on where they left off. During there time off another major story seems to run it course.

Amy's big story line was everyone finding out about her being the mother, her mum going crazy and splitting up with josh

Claire's big story line was the push and the court case i think they rested her because she has a major story line next week

And finally Chris is on leave for personal reasons I think.

I've noticed a pattern with Hollyoaks, they usually have a big plot running throughout one week, with about 1 or 2 sub plots running beside it...then the next week, another plot emerges again and runs, with the characters from the previous week not even being on screen. Sometimes they carry a storyline for a whole week, then 3 weeks later, it returns and picks up from where it left off and nothing has happened in between if that makes sense?
