Anybody going to get one of these? I'm considering getting the 8gb one.
Is it worth paying £199 for an 8gb Touch when you can get an 80gb Classic for £159?

ive wanted one of these since i found out they were coming out which was around may time i think as i thought they looked really good, but like you i am now wondering is it worth paying that when the clasics are out

my daughter wants one of them for christmas. she has always had a basic MP3 player before but decided she now wants an ipod. we have only just realised there was a new range coming out and she wants the limited edition red nano 8GB off the apple website but we dont know whether to get it early incase we cant get a red one near christmas time.

i wouldnt worry too much about the red one lol, as i got the red 4 gb last year and that was only meant to be limitied edition but that one was still being sold on the ipod site until they added the classics which werent that long ago, but my mum got mine early but they are still being made as my cousin has the same red one as me and shes had 3 new ones since lol and the last one werent that long ago, and the best thing about getting it from the site is that you can get them engraved

i'd recommend against this, especially with young kids

you arent getting value for money, is it worth loosing all those GB for the sake of a fancy screen?

plus the screens are easily damaged and it takes a lengthy process to get it repaired, the screens on a standard ipod are bad enough, but this touch I pod screen looks even more sensative.

yes it looks nice, but not practical, and not worth the money imho.

I wouldn't buy one just now Pookie. I made that mistake last year I had bought my daughter a ipod nano in august only to have the bloody shuffle and nano's to be released in different colours. I would wait another few weeks then get her the red one.
