Former EastEnders star Letitia Dean is being lined up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress decided to take a break from her role as Sharon Rickman on the BBC One soap in January 2006, after being involved in a number of high-profile storylines.

Although producers promised that Letitia would only be spending a short period of time away from the show, she has not yet made a return.

Now Dean is believed to be making plans for a TV comeback, and hopes that Strictly Come Dancing will help to raise her profile again.

A source told The Sun: "Tish has taken a year off but she aims to make a big splash with her TV comeback."

Apparently she has been spending alot of time at the gym for a challenging tv appearence (this could be it) so she might be different now

No, she might well have lost a few pounds etc and toned up, then again she might not have. However, whilst it might be great for her to be on this for her, it shows in a sense that she needs EE more than EE needs her IMO.

Lets just hope it "raises her profile" in the right way for her sake - she could make herself look very good, but on the other hand, she could make herself look blooming awful...

I think it will start around end of September Jodi as it's on for about 10 or 12 weeks. I hope Ms Dean is partnered with someone like Brendan Cole so we can see them arguing every week.

I am dying to see who is on the line up !!!

I know "Scary Spice" Mel B. is going to be on the USA version( DANCING WITH THE STARS) ...And she did not know any of the other celebrities that were dancing. Bruno and Len are both judging there, so I am guessing Strictly Come Dancing will start after Dancing with the Stars are over ????

no, they've done both series at the same time before. Dancing With the Stars is on like monday-tuesday in the USA. i remember Len talking about it on It Takes Two last year.
