Peter Wingfield to Leave
Tuesday, August 21, 2007

BBC Publicity have confirmed with holby.tv that Peter Wingfield is to leave HOLBY CITY this Autumn.

Fans will be disappointed to learn of his character's departure; Peter signed a one year contract as Consultant Surgeon Dan Clifford, and was onscreen from November 2006, however despite the challenges of his Holby role, the strain of being away from his family in LA for long periods ultimately led to his decision to quit the show.

Peter has already finished filming on the medical drama, having recently been busy working on his exit storyline but he is looking forward to future work roles.

I'm not happy :( I love Dan. One of my favourite characters. All my faves leave!

Oh and best of luck to him in the future :p. Hope to see him in other things :D.

:rotfl: He does have some good lines :p. And that thing he said to Jac.. "You're a coldfish Olive, but you're alright." Or something like that :p. He's funny with his music too :p.

To be honest it's no great loss for me, I'd rather he left than Connie or Ric.

Awwww, I love his one liners, and how he wound up people. (last episode with Connie was so funny :p )

I hope they leave a space for him to come back :) Adrian Edminson only does 3 month slots at a time....he should do that :D

Dan has to be one of the best characters in Holby at the mo. I really don't want him to go. Hope they give him a good exit so that he can come back.

It will be a sad loss. Dan was a real charecter and was and still is a joy to watch.

aww i will really miss him. i have to admit i wasn't too keen on him at first, but his witty one-liners and his constant putting down of jac have grown on me and now i can't imagine the show without him again.

i agree that i'd rather it was him than connie or ric but i can also think of some others i would rather see go instead, such as jac! - silly silly girl!
