My mum was on the laptop this morning using IE when this page came up.

The web address is [url]http://www.drivecleaner.com/.freeware/index.php?p=20&ax=1&ex=1&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]&z =1&link=intl&ad=nightwas_rdt_uk_en_ed2&aff=#

I have absolutely no idea what this is about or why it has come up. I've run a spyware scan which just brought cookies up and a virus scan which is clear. I haven't clicked on any links except "details" on the illegal websites and adult content. It said something about it being illegal to visit websites and download things and the adult content one came up with a list of websites that I have never even heard of.

I have never visited adult or illegal websites and only me and my mum use the laptop so I don't see how or why this has come up.

Should I just ignore it? Is it anything to worry about? This is really worrying me.

Treat it as spam. It is just a crap site trying to get you to download some software which will probably do more harm than good to your computer.

Thanks Alan. That's put my mind at rest.
I've just been going through my settings and I've not had the firewall switched on so maybe thats why I got it. Mum said something came up about a back door entry (can't remember what she said) as well but being the technophobe that she is she closed it.
