A new bloke’s about to arrive on Albert Square. And although it's not one to make our eyes happy, it's one to make us smile. Cos the man in question is Bobby Davro.

Eastenders are hoping the funny man will be the new Alfie Moon, and he’ll play Vince who’ll be, wait for it, a loveable rogue. And he's set to sweep SHirley off her feet.

And in other soap news, Kerry Katona’s been auditioning for a part in Corrie.

He'll have a lot of work to do if he wants to impress her. Would be good to see Shirley in a long term relationship, but I can't see it.

Walford’s Shirley Carter will get quite literally knocked off of her feet, when a new arrival in Albert Square mows her down before making a move! Comedian Bobby Davro is due to make his debut in EastEnders this September as loveable rouge Vince, who takes a shine to Shirley after running her over and escorting her to A & E. We’ll have to wait and see if Vince gets her heart racing! “I’m looking forward to becoming a soap luvvie,” says Bobby of his new job, while ‘Enders boss Diederick Santer says he’s delighted to welcome the family fave to Walford. “Bobby is a huge talent,” reckons Diederick. “He’s a brilliant comic and is loved by TV audiences.” Lets hope the funny man can bring a smile to the faces of Walford’s residents…

It was said on This Morning that EE are discussing pairing up Shirley and Phil, so maybe they don' think the pairing of Vince and Shirley has worked
