OK ..
i went to a salon first as i wanted my naturally dark brown hair to be light brown .. but it turned out realy bad like only dyed the roots and it wasnt even light brown it was ginger !
i had to keep dying my roots dark brown .. but sumhow the giner was still seen in sunlight .. does anyone know why ??
i then went to another salon and they lightened my whole hair and put a dye on it but still after a few days in sunlight the ginger was still seen!
i dotn know what to do , its summer and i dont want to go out because my hair looks ginger .. but i have heard on toner ! ?
i went on holiday and in the pool most of the dye had come out so if i go to a salon whould toning work ?
any hair colour preffessions out ther please help !

I thought hair toners only lasted for a certain amount of washes, but I may be wrong but if they do then that probably wouldnt help
Have you actually had permamnet hair dye put on since the first time it was dyed and went ginger?

nope on a website it said there were two ways , permanent (the toner ) but it has to be blue toner or something ... and juts like a day on because some shampoos and conditioners can tone dotn the red/ginger tones ro whatever colour you hair has turned out wrongly through hair lightening . yes it was permanent but it has come out in the clorine water :)

Many years ago 23 to be exact my friend had dark brown hair like mines and she wanted blonde streaks so we went a bought a blonde streaking kit. Well we streaked her hair she had a moichan at the time and she loved the hairstyle but hated the colour. She then bought a dark brown hair dye and I warned her that it would go orange but she wouldn't beleive me. Anyway I applied the brown hair dye and guess what she ended up with a bright carrott coloured hairstyle that she loved but her mother hated and to this day her mother hasn't forgiven me :rotfl: All I can say is I've never tried washing up-liquid but it that doesn't work you may have to give it 6-8 weeks until the colour has time to grow throw your hair.

it is mostly out the colour is because of chlorine .. but juts wonderd if anyone knew about the toner ? the colour it is now is pretty much the colour i want it but wiv like a redish/orange tint in it .. espeshially in the sun or outsight in brighter places . it only turned out orange because i had lightened it .. it wasnt blond and then dyed it brown hehe . i juts dont know how to get the orange orange out of it ... maybe one of you has had a problem wiv lightening your hair at home or in salon ? and they recomended something ? thanks :) x and its bin way longer than 6-8 weeks lol .

The exact same thing happened to someone i know. She just left it, and it faded to light brown in the end. If you're really worried about it, and you have enough money, then maybe get your hair stripped? Then get it dyed your original colour, or the shade that you originally wanted? Its pricey, but if you're spending a lot on other toners and dyes at the minute, then it might be worth it.

Oh Thanks abi :D
is stripped like using the same lightener as i did before to get all the colour out of my hair , because i would still be left with the ginger and dying over that doesnt work as it still shows up in sunlight , i dont know how :(. i think my mum would be willing to pay anything just to get me out of her house lol and to make me happy again :) hehe . i have never used a toner before but i really dont know alot about them...like if you used them after you have lightened it or after you have coloured it after lightening it !?
