The Bill actor Scott Maslen was nearly hit by a lorry during filming last week.

Prior to the near-miss, Scott - who currently plays DS Phil Hunter in the ITV police drama - was shooting a scene in which he had to quickly park a car and then run off.

However, an unscripted lorry came hurtling toward the car and clipped the driver's door where the 36-year-old actor was standing only moments before.

A Sun Hill source told The Sun: "Scott could have been a goner. He's a very lucky chap."

Earlier this month, EastEnders bosses successfully poached (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a65634/the-bill-star-jumps-ship-to-eastenders.html) Scott from The Bill to play Max Branning's (Jake Wood) brother, Jack, in the Walford soap.

This thread is about his departure to EE. He starts filming there in August so he must already have left TB. http://www.soapboards.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=67765

Hi Jelly Belly. Thanks for replying to my message, and thanks for the info.Mind you, August is only here now. Maybe he leaves in a week or two then has a week or two off, before starting on Eastenders? Just a thought.

That was close, i have always wondered why theres isnt more stories like this as filming especially on location must be prety dangerous as you can't script everything. s
