Does anyone else think the songs that have been coming out the past year or two have been getting longer in time? I remember songs always used to be around 3 minutes and 30 secs long approx. now it's about 4-5 minutes long... JT's - What goes around... Comes around was like 7 minutes long! I'm not complaining because I'm loving the good songs obv. but does anyone else think this? x
i have never really noticed it to be honest with you, I always remember Never forget by take that was always a long song.
I don't mind long songs as long as they are good. Meatloaf would never be able to pull off a 3 minute song. Some of his run to 10mins which is great, just when you think its about to end it starts up again.
I think some songs just seem longer cause they don't appeal to you so it makes them endless and then you could get a really great song lasting 6 mins that go in no time

Songs have generally lengthened over the years. 60s songs mostly last under three minutes.
Yeah, I think anything under 3 minutes is considered long now, and I used to think that 3 minutes was really long with the lengths of songs that I listened to when I was younger.

Some clubs songs can go on forever
Some clubs songs can go on forever
lets not forget Mickey J and his thriller!!! 12 minutes I think that was, same for Frankie's two tribes and Meatloafs can go on for a week, so songs are not getting any longer

There was a song released by Fern Kinney in the early 80's called Groove Me. The orginal version played in the clubs was 26 minutes long.

So that's what she meant by Together We Are Beautiful. She was talking about fifty records stuck together.
